I recetly purchased a 50 inch panasonic G25 and while trying it out and checking out the features I discovered that it doesn't play .avi files. I had spoken to both Futureshop and (competitor) reps about this and was assured that playing .avi files from a USB was not a problem.

Is there a way of playing .avi files, if not what can i convert them to and with what software.

I like the TV but i may have to return it if this problem isn't solved.

What is the source of the avi file? Does the avi files work on your computer?

yes, it's just a regular .avi file. i can play them on the computer, i can play them on my samsung LCD. They are DVD movies and some are home movies from a camcorder.
