Hi,
I am interested in purchasing this TV :
The problem is that I currently do not have a car and I would prefer not to have it shipped to me (I'm always at work).
Is it possible to carry around the box by myself if I were to purchase it in store ? I live extremely close to the store and it would only require a 5-10 min walk.
Yes, I know, it's a weird question ![]()
Thanks

Ya, it is possible. Depends on your fitness level. The set weighs about 40lbs which doesn't sound like a lot, but after 10 minutes of walking... you could always call a cab?

What 3M_3TI8 said. The issue isn't really the weight but rather the size, for most people; you have to have your arms spread out fairly wide and supporting that weight for a 5-10 minute walk can be difficult, and the last thing you want to do is drop it. I'd suggest calling a friend or a cab, which presumably would only be a few dollars.

I once purchased a large sheet of plywood and carried it home myself 1 mile away.... the secret.... a luggage cart. I made myself a longer handle on the cart and then pushed the plywood home lengthwise.
If you can borrow or rent a "hand truck" you will be able to much easier walk the TV home yourself.

Its really a matter of whether or not you are comfortable enough carrying it around...on a personal note, I wouldn't mainly due to my size...but then throw in the handcart and it could be a possibility, good recommendation though. Just make sure its secure to the cart.
Might want to check the weather before you take out of the store. ![]()

Another tip.... when I carried the plywood sheet, don't use busy sidewalks. Look for sidestreets and alleys to minimize congestion. Perhaps early in the day when traffic is lighter.
Another option is a dedicated appliance cart. These heavy duty transports also come with a rachet strap to secure your load. Very handy on stairs.
