Questions about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX723

I was thinking of buying the Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX723 and I have some questions.

Do you need 3D glasses to watch in 3D?
What kinds of media files does the tv support if I were to watch a video from it's USB port?

Re: Questions about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX723

Yes. You'll need to purchase the Sony active shutter glassses to view 3D. The 3D Sync tramnsmitter is built into this model, so the purchase of an external transmitter is not required. For true 3D content, as opposed to upconverted 3D, you should also purchase a 3D Bluray player.

Supported video files via USB:

  • - AVCHD (files with the extension “.mts” or “.m2ts”)
  • - MP4 (AVC) (files with the extension “.mp4”)
  • - MP4 (MPEG4) (files with the extension “.mp4”)
  • - MPEG1 (files with the extension “.mpg”)
  • - MPEG2 (files with the extension “.mpg”)

So what does the 3D Sync tramnsmitter do?

Is better to go witha tv that has the 3D Sync tramnsmitter or the one without it?
