Samsung 46" D6003 LED and Netflix

Can anyone confirm if they have Netflix working on a Samsung D6003?

I purchased one over the holidays, and Netflix does not work - it says "This device cannot stream Netflix in your area". I'm in Ottawa.

I can stream netflix on my iPad on the same home network, so it is not a regional issue.

It is either a problem with the Tv itself, or the Samsung App, or the Samsung Netflix connectivity.

I've spent much time on the phone with Samsung support, and they are clueless, and had me reset smart hub, and the TV back to factory setting with no avail.

I'm wondering whether to return the TV, or stick it out to see if Samsung either update the App or fix their Netflix issue.

Any advice or experiences appreciated.

Simon

I am having the same problem in BC. I have a Samsung WiFi connector installed...

I called Netflix and spoke to some pretty knowledgeable people and they checked DNS settings and took down the error. They say it should work in Canada on that TV.

I will be calling Samsung tomorrow to see if I can at least raise awareness that it's more than one person. Probably something firmware or app related. Hopefully Netflix and Samsung can get this sorted out soon.

Re: Samsung 46" D6003 LED and Netflix

In Winnipeg, same deal with the Netflix.   Samsung support has so far been useless.    One guy wanted me to update the D6003 firmware with the D6000 file.   That did not work.   Phoned back, and another person told me that it is a problem with the Netflix server.    I have a buddy that purchased the D6000 model, and netflix works fine.   Netflix works on my Wii, PC, you name it...  Just not the D6003.

Re: Samsung 46" D6003 LED and Netflix

I've given up, and returned the samsung WIFI dongle ($115) and replaced it with a Western Digital LIVE TV box ($99 at (competitor)).

I'm much happier.

Netflix works fine, and the browsing of files from a HDD is much faster. Set up was a breeze ,and it seems to play MKV files better than the TV itself. You can also use a USB keybaord.

Its a shame not to be making use of the Samsung 'smart' features, but its still a good deal for a 46" LED, and the WD box is 'smarter' in my opinion.

Re: Samsung 46" D6003 LED and Netflix

The issue is now fixed! So glad to have Netflix on my TV now. It's nice and clear in HD too! (I have my HD settings maxed on my account settings FYI. Not sure if it makes a difference on streaming to the TV, but it seems to)
