Issue #1. If the TV you buy has a "universal" power supply (ie 110-240V, 50-60Hz) then plugging it into power in India would simply be a matter of buying a cheap power plug adapter. If the TV you buy has a power supply designed only to work on North American power standards (110v, 60Hz) then forget about taking it to India.
Issue #2. The broadcast standard for standard definition (non-digital) TV in North America is NTSC, and in India it is PAL. Therefore you will not be able to watch standard definition programming on a TV made to North American standards in India.
