Re: what is better led or 3d

A few thoughts....

  • you can have both.... 3D is available on LED
  • visit the store to check out which 3D you like and what is the price premium?
    glasses?
    passive vs active?
  • do you have 3D products to watch?
  • check out the Blu-Ray 3D selection.... notice the price difference.... are you prepared to pay for the additional difference for a movie?
  • are there 3D movies on Netflix or you favourite streaming service?
  • do you have a 3D camcorder?

Also speak to a sales rep.... what is the ratio of 3D compared to non-3D TV's being sold?

I think 3D continues to take time to catch on, but it does provide a much more immersive experience. Just got myself a 3D camcorder this Xmas. Can't believe the price difference.... it was over $18,000 when the Vancouver Olympics was here.

OT..... if anyone out there that has a 3D smart TV

Re: what is better led or 3d

XL, i'm fairly sure a 3D smart TV will play those YouTube videos in 3D. I actually received a Sony Bloggie from my company for Christmas, and I was surprised how easy it was to shoot a 3D video, then plug the Bloggie directly to my TV via USB and watch the vids in 3D. But yeah, the files saved on Bloggie look just like the YouTube vids (2 stereoscopic images), and my TV knew the were 3D without being told. I'll have to try it out later on.

Re: YouTube 3D on TV

Yes, I'm looking forward to hearing how well it works...

I was exploring 3D on YouTube during the holidays and I didn't realize how flexible/adaptable it was on YouTube.  Check the 3D button at the bottom of the video.

  • you can turn off the 3D if you don't want to see it
  • you can have 2 images side-by-side or mixed
  • on my computer that can't support 3D, YouTube allows me the option to see the 3D with coloured glasses.... it also allows me to change the 3D colors depending on what glasses I'm using.... so cool!

For those that wear prescription glasses, I also discovered you can get 3D clip-ons on the internet.  They come in different colour lenses or polarized if you have a passive screen.
