As for the border agent, was he giving you trouble with duties? I know some people have run into border agents who feel the need to go into a debate about semantics, "made in" vs. "assembled in". Apparently the latter to them means that it is not the same as made in, and therefore does not qualify to be exempt from duties under NAFTA. I would say that the onus is on them to prove that the differences in words actually translate to differences in manufacturing possesses, and if that's the case, does NAFTA even outline the distinction between the two and state the collection of duties on "assembled in".

 

Anyways, congratulations on your purchase, and it is just another example that goes to show that not only is it cheaper to buy south of the border, it is also quite viable. By the way if warranty is of concern, take a look at mack warranties.
