25 years of Zelda: Nintendo announces new online activities
Has it really been that long? Yes folks, 25 years ago, the world were introduced iconic characters, Link and Princess Zelda. Time flies when you’re having fun gaming. For me, it just seems like a few years ago I was solving puzzles to save Princess Zelda from dangerous dungeon bosses on Nintendo.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, the great people of Nintendo have launched a website to share an interactive history of the series, as well as video featuring an orchestra at the recent E3 Expo performing familiar tunes from the game. (Nice, it reminds me of Video Games Live – good times.)
Zelda-themed flipnotes contest
For Nintendo DSi/ DSi XL owners: Now through September 9, DSi and DSi XL owners are invited to create their own flipnotes or short animations, inspired by The Legend of Zelda series, to win the chance to be published on zelda.nintendo.com, the Nintendo Channel on the Wii console and Flipnote Hatena on Nintendo DSi and XL systems. Winners will even have comments by The Legend of Zelda creators, such as Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. Very cool. For full details, visit here.
Game on with 25th anniversary special releases for The Legend of Zelda
If you’re wanting to satisfy the Zelda craving now, check out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.
In September, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords will be available as a free gift to fans. This multiplayer game can be downloaded as a Nintendo DSiWare version, or by accessing the Nintendo eShop with a Nintendo 3DS system.
And later this year, keep your swords drawn for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii. Get a guaranteed copy and pre-order it from Future Shop here.
