Learning a new skill, however, demands a similar time investment but is much more fun.

Want an easy resolution for 2011? Become a better photographer.

I'm going to be doing my own 365 project this year.  One photo each day for 365 days.  It's not  new concept, many initiatives have their own names, websites and communities.

There's 365project.org, Project 365 , Mostly365 and photo365.orgDailyshoot.com gives you a different photo assignment for each day to help you practice some skills and have a focus for your pictures. Lifehacker also has some ideas for getting your own project off the ground.

Me? I'm just going to take one picture every day and toss it in Instagram.   It's a great app for the iPhone that lets you quickly share photos and add fun filters to them to make it a little more artsy.  While I still need to master the non automated functions of my own camera, I want to take this year to do a photo diary of my days.

Some pics will be of food, some of the sky, some of my kids, some of me.  One pic each day for 2011.  I got a head start on it last night, taking a picture of my son tieing one on for New Year's Eve.

catch the buzz ... pass it on.
