$50 for a used video game? YES.

by Blogger on 12-02-2011 11:10 AM - last edited on 12-05-2011 09:23 AM by Administrator

So you just bought Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, finished it and now you're ready to shelf it. But why do that when you can get $50 in store credit, actually a gift card, from Future Shop for trading it in? And if you have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 or Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, trading any one of those in will also cash-in a $50 gift card to use for any product or service sold in-store or online at Future Shop and Futureshop.ca respectively.

Since each of those three titles cost $59.99 new, by participating in this hot trade-in offer, think about it as paying just $9.99 to have played the game. Great deal if you ask me, and it's a great way to add funding for holiday shopping.

Also, Future Shop today released a list of 10 popular used games of 2011, all on sale now through December 24, 2011.

See a copy of the official news release below for all the details including why people buy used games confidently at Future Shop

Future Shop’s Used Gaming has its perks

Canadians who trade-in their used games towards credit to spend on anything sold at Future Shop, receive value, savings and peace of mind knowing each game sold has been tested for quality. Here are five reasons why Canadians love the experience at Future Shop’s Used Gaming department:

  • Zero confusion of what is new or used. Used games are clearly marked with big, bold stickers so Canadians know the difference between used and new
  • Big savings. With new games on Future Shop shelves, the used game, if available, will be placed beside it for comparative shopping. In some cases, Canadians can save 50 per cent off the retail price – see above examples
  • More money. By monitoring the entire used gaming market in Canada, Future Shop ensures they provide the highest trade-in values. The values are in the form of in-store credit to use towards anything sold at Future Shop or www.futureshop.ca
  • Quality control. Every game traded-in or purchased through Future Shop goes through rigorously review at a central facility, including testing through a state-of-art machinery. All used games for sale are guaranteed to work
  • Like new condition. After Future Shop reviews every used game traded-in, it is packaged in its appropriate jewel case with manuals, then shrink-wrapped and stickered, giving it a “like-new” look and feel

*Excludes stores in Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Winnipeg (Garden City, Pembina, Regent, St. James), Kelowna and Nanaimo. Stores in Calgary provide a video game credit due to local licensing restrictions.

Is this offer applicable to the Richmond Hill store? I'm wary since Markham and Vaughan are excluded...

Hey Zeeroid, great question! Unfortunately, Richmond Hill is excluded. You could hit up the North York Future Shop on Yonge St., just north of Sheppard Ave.

Thanks Elliott, I might just do that.

@srnuta: Good question. For used games, we offer trade-in only. Hope you give it a try and take advantage of this spectacular offer!

@ Eliott, have any idea where i should try?

would any local futureshop know of this trade in?

Helllo, I traded my copy of MW3 for 360 on Friday December 2nd and was only given 35 dollars credit. I tried to explain to CSR about what I read on the website and he said that was only hardened edition. Is there any chance I could get the extra 15 dollars back if I bring in my receipt?
