And iTunes 9.1 drops, but no eBooks for Macs...for now
As I said yesterday with 10.6.3 dropping and then rumors of iTunes 9.1 coming soon (closer to the iPad launch was conventional wisdom), we're all in pre-iPad launch day mode. I guess like the old "Think Different" campaigns, Apple broke with conventional wisdom and iTunes 9.1 dropped today.
Along with all the expected features, and some improvements to Genius lists (I didn't notice any difference in mine), is the iBook syncing. I had hoped that there might be a hint of being able to read downloaded books, but alas no hints there. Even TUAW and Gizmodo haven't found a hint of being able to read books from iBooks on your Mac.
My gut tells me that being able to buy and read iBooks on your Mac will be coming, but I'm thinking not until Q4 this year. Just in time for holiday buying time...
Think I'm on the mark?
