They’ve been teasing it for a week now, and rumors have been circulating but now its finally official; Rovio Entertainment will be unleashing Angry Birds Star Wars on November 8th!
Angry Birds is already ridiculously popular. Its the new Pac Man. Its the new Tetris. The game seems to be everywhere. Its playable on TVs, PCs, game consoles, phones, tablets, you name it. There are toys, candies, clothes, all themed around Angry Birds. Its become the ubiquitous game of this generation, thats for sure. It seems like it can’t fail.
We recently saw Rovio release a new spin-off game called Bad Piggies, in which we finally get to see the point of view of those loveable green pigs, snorting their way through their challenges. That doesn’t mean they’re done with the birds though, as this new game makes pretty clear. It combines two franchises that everyone seems to love.
Star Wars too seems to be everywhere. Its only been growing in popularity since the original movies came out over three decades ago. Star Wars makes truckloads of money every year through all sorts of toys, games, and everything else. You name it, you can probably find a Star Wars branded version of it somewhere. With that in mind, this combination seems almost inevitable in retrospect. Both Angry Birds and Star Wars are already everywhere, it was only a matter of time before they occupied the same space at the same time, becoming one.
Prepare to download this hot title on Android and iOS on November 8th. Are you a Rebel without a Squawk or will you turn yourself over to the Porkside? You can head over to angrybirds.tumblr.com to cast your vote now if you like. Thats where you’ll also find more information on the game as it becomes available, including a gallery of fan art.
