CES 2012: Laundry gets bigger & easier thanks to LG and Samsung
Did you know the average family household does six loads of laundry each week? That's 312 loads a year. To make life easier in the wonderful world of cleaning, both LG and Samsung unveiled new washer and dryer pairs at CES 2012.
LG Electronics paraded its fastest and largest capacity front-load washing machine ever built. The titanium-coloured pair is about 20 per cent larger and faster than LG's present washer-dryer combos, with that room comes extra power. Frank Lee from LG Canada explains its benefits, including the washer that can serve as a both a washer AND dryer:
Samsung centred the attention in laundry on its WF457 front-loading washer-dryer. The WF457 integrates mobile technology (Android) to remotely control washloads using Samsung's Smart Control System. Jeffrey Ingram, Samsung Canada, demos the tech at work (follows the smart fridge demo at the two min. 10 second mark):
Wifi is the fuel behind this connected world we live in. At CES the major manufacturers of appliances continue to impress with innovative "smart" applications.
