Set during the events of the first game, Darksiders II puts you in the shoes of Death, the most feared of the legendary Four Horsemen. In the sequel to the popular action-adventure, he embarks upon a quest to restore mankind, and redeem his brother War's name. Of course, there's far worse in store, with the Apocalypse being the least of anyone's worries.
Just a few more weeks shy of launch, Vigil Games and THQ announced earlier today that they will be offering a reward to loyal fans that have supported them since the beginning by offering two in-game unlocks within Darksiders II.
So what can we expect? Those who've simply played Darksiders will unlock the Pauldron of the Horsemen, a Level 5 legendary armor piece that boosts all of Death’s stats as well as his critical damage. And if you've completed Darkisders on any difficulty you will earn the Chaos Fang, a Level 1 legendary scythe which will boost Death’s damage and critical damage.
These in-game item unlocks are based on Achievements and Trophies you've earned in your Darksiders playthrough.
When you preorder Darksiders II at Future Shop you'll receive a code that allows free access to the first DLC expansion pack "Arguls Tomb". This DLC won't be out until about a month after launch so preorder if you want to get first dibs. So what does the Argul's Tomb DLC have to offer? Well, you'll have access to tons of gameplay content, including a whole new dungeon to explore at your leisure.
If that weren't enough, preorder today and also receive the Future Shop Exclusive Deadly Despair pack, which adds an additional speed boost for Death's trusty horse Despair. This allows you to travel across the vast world even faster than before, saving you tons of time in the longrun. This perk is a permanent increase that will last throughout the game too so you never have to worry about it expiring.
