Dear Santa, My Wife Wants a Laptop
Dear Santa,
My wife wants a new computer for Christmas. The one she's on right now is starting to huff and puff and choke and chug and it takes 10 minutes just to open a picture on Facebook.
She's been a good girl, so I'd say upgrading a 6 year old desktop machine is a good gift for her.
All she does is Facebook and email, and occasionally does some research looking for clothes for our kids online. All she needs is a light web browsing machine with the ability to properly store some photos and videos of our kids.
I tried to get her used to my iPad, but our 3 year old seems to have taken that over - although she does like reading the Globe and Mail on it before bed.
So she needs a new computer. She's a sales rep, always on the go, so a laptop with the ability to do some Power Point presentations for clients would be handy too.
Yeah, yeah, yeah - I've told her all about Pages and Keynote, but she's just not quite ready to Mac the switch.
300 gigs of hard drive space will be plenty, 4 gigs of RAM would be nice, a dual core processor would help her handle things with speed. A 15" screen will help her type without cramping her hands on a netbook or squinting at the characters on the screen. Oh, and I don't really want to spend more than $400 - think your elves can get one done for that?
Love, Buzz.
Dear Buzz,
I see your wife has been a very good girl, but between us guys she could probably spend more time cleaning the house and cuddling you at night, right?
Ho Ho Ho!
I understand her troubles with the computer, here are some of my favourite machines that I'm going to be giving to good little girls and boys this year:
Dell Inspiron 15.6" AMD Turion X2 Dual Core RM-75 $399
Compaq Presario 15.6" Intel Pentium T4500 $379
Toshiba Sattelite 15.6" AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core P340 $399
One of those should work just fine.
Merry Christmas,
Santa
catch the buzz ... pass it on.
