I've been sick, guys. Really sick with the flu. That's why there hasn't been too many updates from me recently... and it's also why we've missed SO MUCH game news. So here we go with another top crop.

- Somehow we totally failed to make a big deal about Xenoblade Chronicles, Monolith Soft/Nintendo's apparently wonderful JRPG, is coming to Canada in Spring 2012. The game has recieved pretty much nothing but acclaim in its earlier releases in Europe and Japan. The player takes the role of the oddly named shulk, a weapons researcher who must confront an invading force of robots, the Mechon by wielding the "ancient Monado blade," the only weapon that has any effect against the Mechon, and it also enables Shulk to see the future(!).

"Players can customize their characters with a variety of weapons and armor choices, as well as headgear, boots and gloves," say Nintendo, continuing, "As in many role-playing games, players can then gain experience and upgrade their characters. Players can watch their enemies, learn their tactics and unleash real-time counterattacks ... The vast open world of Xenoblade Chronicles is ripe for exploration. Players can avert their focus from the main story and venture out looking for other challenges and side quests. Hidden areas and unique monsters are scattered throughout the game’s massive world, which players can explore freely."

So that's that, then. Exciting!

- Have we mentioned Sine Mora before? It's a shoot-em-up being developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality, and it was announced that it's to be an XBLA exclusive. Oh, and to be completely clear, it's a "Diesel Punk" shoot-em-up. What that means I'm not exactly clear... oh wait, here's a trailer. That'll help.

Basically steampunk, eh? Well, no matter, they promise the title "provides a unique take on the genre, where time is the ultimate factor" and that it'll "feature over 60 combinations of planes, characters and time manipulation devices to complete every beautifully-crafted stage with scaling difficulty ... All set to an epic score of soaring heights composed by Akira Yamaoka."

Also exciting!

- Quite a lot of stuff was announced at the Spike Awards way back in mid-December, actually, all of which I missed (sorry about that, folks.) Interestingly, Epic announced the new IP Fortnite. There's really little to no information about it, so let's just spit out the trailer of it here:

It doesn't show very much, so maybe this seems harsh, but the character design of this game is super, super ugly. Like those "extreme!" character designs from the early 2000s; Jak and Daxter or whatever, except, honestly, uglier.

So... not excting!

- I haven't really been following the news related to Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, possibly because (and let's just keep up the negativity here) it just seems totally characterless. However! Maybe that's not exactly the case, as Capcom has announced that there will be some famous faces in the game after all. In Heroes Mode players will be able to compete in four vs. four multiplayer with classic Resident Evil characters including Leon. S Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Hunk and Ada Wong. There will apparently be eight classic characters on offer; Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 20th.

- Square Enix has announced that an action-platformer based on Nathan Jurevicius’ graphic novel, Scary Girl, is coming to XBLA and PSN (January 18 for the Xbox 360, January 24 for the PS3.) Scary Girl, is, apparently, "Scarygirl is an abandoned child with a tentacle arm who dresses like a pirate, and is haunted by a strange man in her dreams. She sets out into the world to discover the meaning behind her bad dreams."

So there's that. MIght be good?

- And finally, let's enjoy announcing some Harmonix news that no one could possibly care about... or could they? First up, Hall and Oates(!) hit Rock Band with their tracks Privates Eyes, I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do), and Maneater all hitting TODAY. Try not to trip over yourself running to your game systems, OK? (I kid, I kid. Actually "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" is a total guily pleasure of mine.)

And Ne-Yo's "chart-topping hit" Closer has hit for Dance Central 2, also today. So... I don't even know who that is. Good place to end it, I think.

Check out that trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.  It doesn't really give much of a story glimpse, except that it shows it likely won't just be zombies you are fighting and that the action will likely be very intense, even compared to games like RE4 or RE5.

I'm looking forward to it :smileyhappy:
