Monster Products continues to walk the runway by introducing two new over-the-ear headphones: Monster Inspiration and Monster Diamond Tears Edge. Both offer amazing quality sound as expected from Monster, and they deliver when it comes to style.
Here's a look at what's inside the box of Inspiration headphones, one of the latest models to join the stylish Monster family at Future Shop. Later this week, a review on the Diamond Tears Edge will appear on the Tech Blog.
Monster Inspiration headphones
The Monster Inspiration over-ear headphones come in three colours: silver, black and white. I was fortunate to handle a beautiful, black pair. My first exposure to these finely-crafted headphones while at CES 2012. In fact, I saw rapper Prohozac perform live wearing the Inspirations - watch the video here.
You can feel the quality as you handle the packaging to unveil the Inspiration headphones. They are packed inside a soft-textured, sturdy case with a handy clip (perfect to attach to a backpack or laptop bag).
The high-end feel continues when handling the headphones. There is plenty of padding with synthetic leather for a cozy fit. Aluminum construction is the base of the headphones.
One thing I noticed right away about the Inspiration headphones is the removeable headband. Inside the box there are two provided - a black leather band in a matte finish, as well as a glossy black, almost alligator style black band that can be easily interchanged. Designed for Monster's Inspiration headphones, this removable headband lets you customize your headphones to suit your mood and style. It uses magnetic clips to adhere to the headphones, and it's easy to swap out with others.
Interchangeable bands for the Inspiration model are a fantastic idea so the right colour headphones can be paired with the right coloured clothing or accessories.
Regarding function, these are noise-cancelling headphones with earcups shaped in a rectangular shape, cupping the ears perfectly drowning out surrounding noise.
Both earcups feature female ports to insert one of three cords equipped with one of any three cords inside the case:
- A cord specifically for Apple devices to control music tracks, Control to accept calls
- A cord for universal devices to make calls
- One to lose any bulk and listen to music
Having the ability to insert a cord into either earcup also allows listeners to choose which one they'd like the cord to dangle. Or, they can also "daisy chain" a cords in each, allowing friends to listen in.
Overall, the Monster Inspiration headphones are a high-calibre headphone that are perfect for the professional, student or casual wearer. Listeners will appreciate staying fashion and tech forward with the stylish, interchangeable bands.
