Holiday Most Must Have: Keurig Platinum

keurig.jpgI'll never understand how waiting 10 minutes in line at a busy Starbucks counter or Tim Horton's drive thru in the morning rush to work is more convenient than taking 3 minutes and brewing a perfect cup at home.

If you have someone worshipping the coffee culture, but needs to get a grip on their $25 a week habit, plopping a Keurig Platinum under the tree just might be the solution.

True java purists will sneer at the pre packaged beans, but if you've got someone on your list that lines up for a caffeine iv every morning, this will do just fine.  Especially since there are more than 200 varieties in KCups available from breakfast blend to green tea, chai latte, apple cider and more.

The Keurig Platinum is good looking and dead easy to use.  Flip the lid and the previous K-Cup drops into a trash container and then you slip in a new one and select your size.

These new style coffee machines are simply implementing the strategies of the printer and razor industry to lure customers in.  The hardware (coffee maker, printer, razor) is cheap, while the software (coffee, ink, blades) needs to be regularly replaced often thereby offering the manufacturer a constant and loyal revenue stream.  Is it really a shock to learn that the machine was created by the company responsible for the disposable razor, Gillette?
