Lately, you've probably been hearing a lot about the PSN game Journey.  If you've seen gameplay footage or screencaps that shouldn't really surprise you considering how beautifully done the game really is.  Luckily for the developer behind this inspiring new downloadable, thatgamecompany, it seems that all that hard work behind the game has paid off. Jenova Chen of thatgamecompany announced that Journey has become "the fastest selling game ever released in the SCEA region on the PlayStation Network." Right on!

The previous game to hold that record was Sucker Punch's Infamous: Festival of Blood. Based on the first two weeks of sales that is a huge accomplishment for a very unconventional game.  It just goes to show that games with a focus on artistry and experimentation are just as influential and entertaining.

Chen makes that appreciation very clear in a recently blog post on the PlayStation Blog, "We thank you so much for your support, for spending time and money to play our game and for spreading the word about Journey to your dear friends and family. We have received more letters from fans in the two weeks since Journey's launch than we did for Flower over the past three years!"

Included in the message is an art piece expressing their deep gratitude.  I couldn't be more happy to have helped out a company as inspirational as this:

If you continue reading the thank you message (which you totally should at the link above), Chen also announces the release of the Journey OST.  "Lastly, a lot of you have seemed to really enjoy the music in the game, which was composed by Austin Wintory. And we’ve received a lot of requests to release the soundtrack of the game. Well, I’m happy to announce that the soundtrack will be hitting the PS Store and iTunes on April 10, and there will be a limited CD release in the near future as well."

Thank you to everyone who has put time into purchasing and playing this very important, and lovely game!
