LG 2012 Appliance Preview
Spring is Home Show season across the country and Frank Lee of LG has been taking his roster of fresh new ideas from coast-to-coast showing them off to Canadians.
Frank is one of the greatest guys in tech in Canada, we talked with Frank at CES 2012 about the "My Signature" kitchen. Frank takes his job as spokesperson for LG so seriously he takes a shift working the line in Korea.
Last year Frank was working on Blu-Ray players. His job was to insert 4 screws into a casing. He couldnt do it. He was pressing too hard, he was pressing too lightly. The entire line stopped multiple times during his 8 hour shift. That's the kind of passion Frank brings to his job.
I caught up with him at the Calgary Home Show this spring to talk about some of the new LG appliances you'll see at Future Shop this summer:
LG WM8000 TURBO WASH:
First things first, this machine is big. 6 cubic feet of space means you can jam 2 king size comforters in this beast and get them done quickly, and efficiently. Canadians do 6-8 loads of laundry a week and most people do it on one day. By having a larger, more efficient load base, you can cut down the number of loads and free up some family time.
LG FOUR DOOR CONVERTIBLE FRIDGE
The premise of this fridge is to make everything usable and visible. This comes in standard widths, but gives you an extra 6 cubic feet of usable space because of thinner insulated panels.
There's also an extra drawer in the fridge that you can use as either a fridge or a freezer, depending on your needs. It's great to store big items like cakes, or defrost meats for dinner.
