Lady Gaga returns to CES 2011; 50 Cent and Bill Walton show up too
Celebrities appearing at CES 2011 is now an expectation, or in some cases a tradition for some consumer electronics manufacturers.
You may have caught on my Twitter page I had the chance to meet 50 Cent as well as NBA Hall of Famer, Bill Walton. A major star who drew crowds of people at the Polaroid booth was Lady Gaga. Some of you might remember I was in pursuit of meeting her at last year's CES, but had to settle for photos and listening to her speak at a press conference where she was named Creative Director for Polaroid.
So what were these high-profile stars and athlete doing at CES 2011? Here's the run down:
- 50 Cent, music artist - announced his partnership with Sleek Audio to release 50 Cent headphones. Interesting he didn't join Dr. Dre and the Beats line by powerhouse, Monster Cable.
- Bill Walton, NBA great - Chinese electronics manufacturer, Haier, brought this basketball legend in to sign autographs for ambitious fans like me. Really nice guy. Haier stuck to bringing in a bball great; you might remember last year they brought in former Golden State Warrior, Chris Mullins.
- Lady Gaga, music artist - Gaga and Polaroid unveiled the new 'Grey Label' product line consisting of three products she helped design: sunglasses that take photos, portable printer that prints smartphone photos and a modern-day Polaroid camera that lets you display and print shots you take.
Celebs are synonymous with CES so it will be fun celebrity sighting through the weekend. FYI, a number of us are going to Monster Cable's Earth, Wind and Fire concert, that should be a blast.
Note: I'll report on the fun if my health improves. Also on Twitter, you may have caught I've got the flu. Not a pleasant time to be sick when all the CES action, evening events are taking place. (Sigh.)
Until tomorrow, I'm signing off and hitting the hay.
