If you're a fan of the sandbox phenomenon Minecraft, here's something to celebrate over. This past weekend, Mojang mastermind Notch tweeted that Minecraft has officially reached the 20 million user mark. This is a huge accomplishment for a once unknown indie studio and just goes to show that anything is possible in the video game industry.
I can't seem to get Notch's tweet out of my mind, "At 4 liters per day, it would take a million years to drink 20 million liquidised humans." This absurdly funny and utterly random stat definitely made my weekend shine a little brighter.
Of the 20,130,553 Minecraft users (and counting), 4,667,960 people (with more coming by the second) have bought the game. Back in November, Minecraft hit the 4 million sales mark and is constantly growing. You can even see for yourself on the official Minecraft website.
Who knows what the next newsworthy achievement Minecraft will be celebrating over?
