If you're a fan of the cult favourite Persona series then you've probably been waiting very patiently for the much-anticipated Persona 4 fighter game, Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (I know I have).  A few days ago, Atlus released a very cryptic teaser email to its subscribers hinting at the game's stateside release and those rumours are now proving true. Today, Atlus announced plans to localize the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, under the title Persona 4 Arena.

Developed by Arc System Works, the fighter features characters from Persona 3 and 4 in beautiful hand-drawn, high-res 2D, much like the equally gorgeous BlazBlue series.  It might seem a little strange placing characters from a JRPG setting into a fighting game, but somehow the concept seems all-too appropriate considering each character's unique battle strategies and even more unique summons.

Persona 4 Arena is heading stateside this summer to keep your eyes peeled for this genius new game by Atlus.  It may not end up becoming the most popular game on store shelves, but you can rest assure that it will have a very devoted and passionate following. Stay tuned for more news in the next few months!
