Prototype 2 Delayed For PC; RADNET Edition Revealed
Earlier this week we posted about Prototype 2's April 24 release date; however it seems PC users will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on this much-anticipated game. According to the official Prototype Facebook page, the PC version won't arrive until July 24. Below is Radical Entertainment's post in full:
Hey all, we just wanted to let you know that the PC version of PROTOTYPE 2 is unfortunately going to be delayed until July 24th. Radical Entertainment has always been extremely dedicated to all our fans, and we just wanted to make sure you heard the news from us FIRST. We'll share more details with you soon.
While no reason was given as to why there would be a three month delay in the PC release, this isn't the first time this issue has occurred among mainstream titles. Reactions to the news were extremely mixed, but none appeared outright surprised. There are many reasons why something like this could happen so all we can hope for now is that Radical Entertainment is making the necessary changes and improvements to better the performance and reception of the game.
On a far better note, Activision has announced that the RADNET Edition of Prototype 2 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be available in "a limited number of the launch quantities" or to people who preorder the game. This edition of the game will allow players access to RADNET (via a code included with new copies of the game), giving them 55 free pieces of additional content delivered for seven weeks following the game's launch. The weekly content will include a range of items including avatar items, videos and in-game mutations.
Details about the RADNET Edition are still unknown, but at least we have some good news to look forward to.
Prototype 2 will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 24 while the PC edition will be released on July 24. If you'd like to preorder a copy of this game, you can find it on the Future Shop product page.
