Review: Lifeproof iPhone 4/4S Cases
Lifeproof iPhone 4/4S Case - $79.99
You know this case means business when the first thing you see opening it up is a serious CAUTION sticker across the back of the case.
"To ensure correct installation, operation and protection against water damage the following checklist MUSt be followed carefully prior to exposure to water for validation of warranty."
This is serious business. You need to study the instructions, watch a number of videos, water test the case without the phone, install the case correctly, review your installation, and double check the installation each time your phone has an impact. Even then they still say "we cannot warranty that it will protect your device in every circumstance."
Before you can even apply for the one year warranty, you need to pass a 12 question test to make sure you know, understand, and can follow the installation instructions.
If you're a snow rider, you know you get wet. If you have a pool, you know stuff gets wet. If you like to spend your summers and vacations on a boat, you know stuff gets wet.
After doing all of the above instructions, I sucked it up and dropped my wife's iPhone in the bath.
$79.99 may sound like an expensive price to pay for an iPhone case, and it is. But if you live an extreme lifestyle and take your iPhone with you, it's a small insurance price to pay versus the replacement costs of your iPhone. Heck even if you don't live an extreme lifestyle, this case will protect you from the everyday accidents that could see you facing almost $200 just to replace a cracked screen.
Lifeproof Bike and Bar Mount - $39.99
If you already use your iPhone as a GPS trainer for your running with a Belkin armband, you're going to love the idea of using it as a bike computer too. The bike and bar mount is simple to install and promises to fit everything from road and mountain bikes to quads, snowmobiles, and jetskis. (Before you take it in the extreme locations, make sure you have the Lifeproof iPhone Case on to keep it waterproof)
With the bike mount installed, you can tilt and view your navigation apps easily. Since the phone is sitting right in front of you on the handlebars, it's easy to access for phone calls or flipping between playlists on your ride.
Lifeproof Belt Clip - $29.99
Okay, this one is a little old school from the days when phones were too bulky to fit in your pocket, or you wanted to show off to everyone that you were rocking a mobile, so you clipped it to your belt.
Still, there are locations when having a phone clipped conveniently to your hip is better than trying to fish it out of a pocket. This belt clip works with the Lifeproof iPhone Case to keep your phone always handy, and protected.
Zagg Invisible Shield HD - $19.99
I made the mistake of waiting to install a screen protector on my iPhone 4. After a year of rolling around in my pocket with keys, change, and assorted dusty rocks it's got a few scratches on it.
The toughest part about screen shields is the installation. Have patience, take your time, and smooth out all the air bubbles and you'll be glad you have one on. This shield doesn't take anything away from the retina display of the iPhone and if you follow the instructions, you'll get it on easily.
