The Best of San Diego Comic-Con 2012
It's a little hard to imagine this year's San Diego Comic-Con has come to a close! This four day annual event celebrated another fun and entertaining year in geekdom. Covering Movies, Comics, TV, Video Games and Anime, San Diego Comic-Con has always offered us some of the best behind-the-scenes footage, commentaries and sneak peeks.
Here are a few news briefs and video panels in Movies and TV that struck my eye at this year's con. You have to see it for yourself!
(Note: Thank you to all of the Youtubers who took the time to offer such wonderful footage of the con. Couldn't have done it without you.)
The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory offered yet another outstanding panel covering the cast's favourite moments in Season 5, a "Soft Kitty" chorus, the 100th episode celebration, as well as a live Q&A with fans (and Spider-man):
If you didn't already hear, the video panel also featured a space flight giveaway aboard the XCOR Aerospace's Lynx RLV. This is truly the first of its kind at Comic-Con, watch the giveaway video below:
If you love The Big Bang Theory as much as we do, check out all the seasons at Future Shop:
The fourth season of THE BIG BANG THEORY finds Leonard (Johnny Galecki) falling for Raj's sister Priya following his break-up with Penny (Kaley Cuoco). Meanwhile, Sheldon (Simon Helberg) finds romance with a neurologist who quickly establishes herself as Penny's new best friend. As Howard and Bernadette's relationship blossoms, Bernadette finds herself plagued by Bollywood daydreams starring Raj (Kunal Nayyar).

Walking Dead
The Walking Dead panel was another must-see for fans of this hit series. While it definitely changed the way we thought of the popular comic book series, it does so with total gusto. Check out this amazing panel below for plenty of behind-the-scenes commentary:
If you'd like to continue watching, here are Part 2 and Part 3 of the panel as well.

Firefly 10-Year Anniversary
Last but certainly not least, I'd like to take the time to showcase a video panel for one of my most beloved series, Firefly. From the moment I watched this Joss Whedon tv series, I knew it was one I would never forget, neither would many around the world. This is truly an important series by Whedon so, to show their love and appreciation, Comic-con featured a 10-Year Anniversary Panel. Still can't believe how fast time flies!
If you'd like to continue watching, here are Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5 of the panel as well.

Iron Man 3
If there's one Marvel comic-to-film adaptation that has truly made a name for itself it's Iron Man. Whether it's because of the well thought out scripts, impeccable casting (I swear, Robert Downey Jr. was made for this role) or the outstanding special effects, Iron Man has been extremely successful. In preperation for the release of Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013), the cast and crew sat down to talk about the upcoming film. (At about the 50 second mark, the video quality gets tons better so be patient!)
If you haven't already checked out the movie series check them out below:
As Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) owns up to being Iron Man before the world press, Anton Vanko lies dying in Russia. Years ago, Anton worked with Tony's father to create a new source of energy. But greed got the best of Anton, and now as he slips away, his son, Ivan (Mickey Rourke), vows to make Tony pay for the sins of his father. Meanwhile, Tony fends off efforts from smarmy Senator Stern} (Garry Shandling) and military weapons expert Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) to divulge the secrets of his powerful Iron Man suit. The powers that be are concerned that Tony's technology may fall into the wrong hands -- fears that are soon confirmed when the cocky billionaire entrepreneur is confronted in front of the entire world by Ivan, who has built his own weapon using stolen Stark blueprints. Later, as Lt. Rhodes (Don Cheadle) wrestles with the decision to personally deliver Tony's suit to the military, Ivan finds an unlikely ally in the quest to destroy Iron Man; Stark Industries legal consultant Natalie Rushman (Scarlett Johansson) reveals her connection to Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson); and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) takes on some new responsibilities.

Marvel Film Lineup
Speaking of Iron Man 3, Marvel has uncovered a plethora of other films that we should be expecting in the coming future. Marvel has confirmed speculations of super hero films, Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1, 2014), Thor: The Dark World (November 8, 2013), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (April 4, 2014) and Antman (TBA 2014). In the TV side of things, Marvel also announced a new animated tv series, Avengers Assembled, to transition from The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Antman in particular has received the greatest praise. With Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) helming the film, it's sure to be a fine portrayal of the super hero. It's a shame the sneak preview couldn't be included in this series of videos, but I hope you enjoy some of the behind-the-scenes footage!
If you'd like to continue watching, here is Part 2 (sorry if the footage gets a little shaky by the 1:43 mark, guys. By the way, I haven't included the rest of the videos because they were posted earlier in the Iron Man 3 panel footage. Enjoy!).
Haven't seen Thor or Captain America yet? Check them out at Future Shop:
Man of Steel
Marvel wasn't the only company to release some exciting news. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have unveiled a new instalment of the Superman series, Man of Steel (June 14, 2013). Offering a far darker, more human approach to the iconic super hero, Zack Snyder's latest film looks quite promising. I'm not really a fan of Snyder myself, but he offers an interesting look into the upcoming film. You can check it out below (once again, sorry for the shakiness!):
If you'd like to continue watching, here are Part 2 and Part 3 of the panel as well.
The Hobbit
Warner Bros. also gave fantasy fans a sneak peek at The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (December 14, 2012), the Lord of the Rings prequel. Following the footage is some nice commentary by the cast and crew. Check it out below:
Django Unchained
If you're a fan of Quentin Tarantino's films you're probably anticipating his upcoming slave revenge spaghetti western, Django Unchained (December 25, 2012). This panel was really something, fleshing out the new flick and what we should expect from it. Check out the video panel below:
If you'd like to continue watching, here are Part 2 and Part 3 of the panel as well.
Looper
If there's one film I can't wait to see it's Looper (September 28, 2012). Whether its because of it's amazing cast (I absolutely Joseph Gordon-Levitt) or premise, Looper looks like it's going to be a very unique and ambitious sci-fi film.
If you'd like to continue watching, here are Part 2 and Part 3 of the panel as well.
