The anticipation for the third installment of The Dark Knight film series continues to rise with the release last week of new trailer giving us a sneak peak at the pivotal final chapter.
Taking place eight years after the events of the last film, Gotham City is threatened by the terrorist leader Bane who is seen in the trailer commanding his militant army to lay waste to the city. As the police force scrambles for safety, Bane and his army are unrelenting in their brutality as they ransack houses, toss bodies, and sink an entire football field into chaos.
A haggard Bruce Wayne is seen walking in supported by a cane, perhaps not yet recovered from the physical strain from his encounters with the Joker. With the city in shambles, the former hero Batman is forced to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent's crime and must gather his strength to put an end to Bane's tyranny.

The Dark Knight Rises is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordan), Tom Hardy (Bane) and Anne Hathaway (Selena Kyle/Catwoman).
The film is scheduled for theatrical release in Canada on July 20, 2012, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
