As we all know, this weekend saw the much anticipated launch of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Nintendo's Wii.  I was down at the launch event, which took place at in the Sears Court of the Toronto Eaton Centre, with the phenomenally talented Paulo Rubio from RubioFilms (http://rubiofilms.com) and we captured all the excitement and fanfare surrounding this historic launch.  Check out our video coverage, including an interview with Future Shop's very own Laurent Tremblay, Entertainment Coordinator for the Future Shop downtown Toronto location!

This might be the first Wii game I have bought in YEARS.  Since I have Move, and Kinect now, the Wii's motion control seems archaic - but I don't know if I can avoid a new Zelda game - I don't know if anyone can!

I haven't played much so far, and while I enjoy the new Wii controls, I haven't been "grabbed" from the beginning like I usually am with Zelda games.  I'm finally at a point where I'm about to venture out of Skyloft, but so far, it's been a little slow, and altogether focused on the assumption that people are going to have a really difficult time with the new controls and takes an inordinate amount of time to explain everything.

Either way, I'm not about to stop playing yet.  Looking forward to seeing where this is going!

Hope you're enjoying the game JB.  I played a preview level that was beyond Skyloft and it was quite enjoyable. The Wii Motion Plus controls were implemented very well and I thought the AI was smarter than in previous Zelda games.

mwashburn, I played Kirby's Return to Dream and thought it was a good experience, but you're right, lately I've been playing more PS3/Xbox 360 games.  The Wii release schedule this year has been rather light.

I've entered the first temple, and I'm beginning to enjoy it more.  I'll wait until I start getting some real serious items before giving my yay or nay on the game, but it's definitely getting better :smileyhappy:  I don't think this will be the best Zelda I've ever experienced, but it still seems like we're moving in a good direction :smileyhappy:
