The holiday is by far my favourite time of year. Family, friends, food, and fun gifts. I stumbled across this nifty retro item through my colleagues over at Native Union and Future Shop: the Moshi Moshi Pop phone attachment. Apparently, retro is in this holiday season, and this accessory really brings the "pop."

Aside from looking ultra hip, don't be fooled by the throw-back design and think that's all it's good for. When I got my hands on the Moshi Moshi Pop I immediately thought of practical uses for it:

  • Skype or Facetime on my iPhone: Indeed, I can leave my smartphone propped-up and use the Pop to hear/ talk
  • Grab attention from passerbys and look cool when roaming the streets - just by walking the halls of the office or walking the streets of Vancouver I've received tons of looks and whispers along the lines of "whoa, look at that phone!"
  • Never lose the phone in the condo again: With the Pop, it will be obvious where I last left my phone and search times are reduced by more than 75 per cent
  • It is clear when you answer, or especially end a call, by using the  button located in the centre of the handset. No more dragging on calls when unknowlingly by failing to hit "End" on the touch screen.

Moshi Moshi Pop is a fun smartphone accessory. It works for just about any smartphone by inserting in the headphone jack, is available in many colours (see some above) and will be an instant hit for anyone who receives it under the tree or inside their stocking. The retail price is $39.99 and it will be carried by Future Shop.
