If you've been thinking of trying ChromeOS, especially the USB boot versions, then you should consult this ChromeOS hardware compatibility guide. No, this isn't 100% guaranteed stuff, and will certainly be be updated over time, but it's a good idea to check.
For example my little Asus Eee PC 901 probably isn't a good choice since the fans might not work. Since that little bugger can run hot sometimes (especially since I mistreated its battery so much), I'm going to take a pass on it. I know my Mac won't boot into Chrome OS, but I've got the virtual machine running okay.
Sure it should be pretty obvious to check this out first, but really since the early reports were of it running fine on several devices and Dell even releasing a build for its netbook owners I'm not surprised people might have just jumped first, check later.
