Top 5 Apps for the Kitchen

Using technology in the kitchen seems like a dangerous task. Kitchens are places where liquids are used often, and in the past, computers have been rather large and have taken up valuable counter space.
 
But with the super-slim design of the iPad, bringing high-tech to the Kitchen is now easy, and totally practical. And app developers have noticed and created some very cool apps to help you create culinary creations. Here's five of my favourite then, with observations (both good and bad) about the apps.

  • Awesome scroll selector system
  • Free version ad supported
  • nutritional information available
  • Pro version with additional features
  • User based recipe reviews and comments
  • Email a recipe feature only sends the link to the recipe on the website, not the whole recipe
  • Links open browser to the website, but on a iPhone browser the website displays tiny and almost unreadable
  • one of the most popular apps
  • some recipes have thousands of comments / reviews

Big Oven - Free 

  • Some features require web account (Free)

  • Highly usable in the free mode
