Updated Photoshop on-the-go - optimized for the iPad

Last week, Adobe released the Photoshop Express Mobile app for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. This update of Photoshop.com Mobile is loaded with some basic editing features which are are a blessing when you want to upload an image and make some tweaks without the use of a computer.
Editing:
Photoshop Express Mobile gives you the option to edit and upload photos already stored on your device or a photo taken on the spot. Post-processing effects include:
-crop, straighten, rotate, flip
-adjustments: exposure, saturation, tint, B&W, contract
-filters: sketch, soft focus, sharpen
-fun effects: vibrant, vintage, vignette blur... and more.
The app allows effects to be stacked, thus you can change an image to black and white then adjust contrast in monochrome to see the actual "stacked" result. On the other hand, unlike the actual Photoshop software, this app does not support layering which is a key element to "hardcore" editing. Since you're basically tweaking some colours and sizes, you don't really need layers, nor would the hardware be able to effectively support all those layers anyway!
Uploading:
After you're done editing an image, you can save and upload it to Photoshop.com (free for new users), Facebook, and Twitter. The app was designed to upload photos in the background and let you continue editing other images which is a great feature if you have a lot of images to get to. You can then view albums you've created on your Photoshop.com account.
Interface:
The interface is extremely easy to understand. I've been using Photoshop for over 12 years and I know that someone with no experience editing a photo will have no trouble getting the hang of this. There's even an option to "Show Tips" in which pop-ups will show up explaining how to use a certain function. Adobe's done a great job of "iPhone-ifying" the app whereby you make adjustments by simply sliding your finger across the screen to adjust brightness, contrast... etc.
Keep in mind that I've been using this app on my iPhone 3G and it's faster than I would have expected. I can only imagine how smooth it would run on a 3GS, 4, or the iPad (which this app has been optimized for).
Well done Adobe, definitely a must have... especially since it's free!

Well done Adobe. Granted the app is an extremely slimmed down version of Elements, it's definitely a must have for simple tweaks... especially since it's free!
