Want a Canadian Made iPad stand? ChillTab is your choice.
I met an interesting guy this week, Adam Berson...he's a cabinet maker by trade and wanted something to hold up his MacBook while he was in the shop. Oh and he wanted to keep it cool too. So, he made the ChillBed.
A simple piece of aluminum that conducts the heat away from your machine and then the air below cools the Chillbed. Yes, yes, simple concept, but the physics works.
Regardless, Adam saw that with iPads people needed a stand for it too. Maybe not for cooling, but just holding it up. Adam created the ChillTab for both the iPad and Playbook. Of course I'm sure will work great with the Galaxy Tab. Adam made the ChillTab 2 (left image) as a basic stand. I used it for several hours in landscape orientation to watch feeds and have a rather expensive desk clock.
The ChillTab 4 adds a slanted side for typing and such (right image) as well as the "holder" side as on the ChillTab 2.
How do these stand up (hee hee) against other iPad stands? Well you're not going to find another iPad stand desgined and made in Vancouver now are you? Didn't think so. I like black, anodized finish of the ChillTab 2 ... no these aren't designed to be thrown into your bag and toted around, these are things that you might keep at your desk or in the kitchen to be able to read recipes or watch a movie.
They might be simple and basic ... but the design is also elegant and useful. A good item to have around.
I just hope Adam doesn't want the demo unit back too quickly...
