There's something so alluring about the WipEout series - juxtaposing vehicles flying at hyperspeed to the beat of lightning fast electronica is no small feat. Sometimes it seems a little too good to believe, especially when you're like me and listen to all of the WipEout OSTs religiously. WipEout revolutionized the racing genre and has always been a very stimulating and aesthetically pleasing experience. Where did those moments begin? Where else but WipEout 2048, the prequel to the series?
Sony, the masterminds behind this popular series, has released two versions of WipEout 2048's opening cinematic, with the only difference being that one provides a making-of commentary. In addition, Sony has also released some gorgeous screenshots of the ships you'll be able to play as.
One of the PlayStation Vita's launch titles, WipEout will feature tons of cool features, made specifically for the Vita. Six-axis control is once again a part of the series, the system's rear touch screen will handle the acceleration, while weapons can be triggered on the front of the device. Of course, if you prefer traditional controls you can go with those as well but why would you?
