Review: Sony SmartWatch

Smartwatch face.jpgAs timeless (no pun intended) and fashionable as watches have been for such a long time, smart watches have been a bit of a tougher sell. They’ve been around for a long time, going back to calculator watches from the 1980s, but today’s smart watches can do a whole lot more. Sony has been pushing this concept with its SmartWatch, a device that may have flown under the radar a little bit since it launched, but is worth a look if you like having it integrate with your compatible Android phone.

Review: mophie OutRide action camera for iPhone 4/4S

by Blogger on ‎01-24-2013 04:32 PM - last edited on ‎02-28-2013 02:09 PM by Retired Administrator

POV action cameras have gone from being specialty gizmos to something a lot more mainstream in the last couple of years. GoPro is a brand that’s helped push the category forward, coupled with lower prices, but the concept of an action cam is now moving into the iPhone itself. mophie’s OutRide has been almost a year in the making, and now that it’s coming soon to Future Shop, I spent some time with this ruggedized and waterproof camera and case for the iPhone 4 and 4S to see what you can expect.

Review: Smash Season 1

by Blogger on ‎01-24-2013 12:46 PM - last edited on ‎01-28-2013 11:57 AM by Retired Administrator

I know what you might be thinking.  Smash must be another tv show where the cast breaks into song and dance. Of course, that love for musical theatre is a definite highlight of the show, but this is no Glee.  Smash cares to tread down a more drama-filled path and has more in common with Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (RIP).  You'll be in for a ride, even if it is a rocky one.

An Outstanding HDTV for Super Bowl XLVII

by Blogger ‎01-23-2013 04:36 PM - edited ‎02-01-2013 03:57 PM

On January 20th, the 49ers overcame a seventeen point deficit to the Altanta Falcons – capturing a coveted spot in Super Bowl XLVII. Their opponents this year are the Baltimore Ravens, a relatively young franchise with an impressive track record. The winner is still anyone’s guess, but one thing is certain... if you’re watching the game on the LG 47” 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV, you’ll experience a level of clarity and fluidity that's nothing short of exceptional.

Could you imagine the day where your meat will come from a printer and not a cow? This day might happen sooner than possibly imagined. Back in September, I reported that Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, had invested $350,000 into a 3D Bioprinting company called Modern Meadow (read article). Now, this US start-up has given an estimated price tag for a printed hamburger.

Game Your Video 1.jpg

Funky photo editing apps seem to pop out all the time in Apple’s App Store, but that isn’t always the case for video, which is why Game Your Video piqued my interest. This app offers some basic editing, but is more of a standout for the filters and effects it offers in turning a video into something far more interesting. For $0.99, it’s worth every penny.
