Review: New Super Mario Bros. U

The launch of Nintendo's Wii U is a historic one. Not only will we be seeing Nintendo games in HD for the first time, it's also the first Nintendo console to launch with a new Mario title in 16 years. Seriously, no joke. Back in 1996, Nintendo launched the N64 with Super Mario 64. Sure we've Mario titles since then, but not coinciding with a console launch. Well friends, the wait is over.

New Super Mario Bros U brings a fresh coat of paint to a beloved franchise. Instead of showing off the Wii U's graphical power with a 3D platformer, Nintendo has chosen to stick with the tried and true 2D side-scroller; one you can play with up to 4 of your friends. Multiplayer Mario may not be new, but Nintendo always has a way of taking their franchises to the next level and New Super Mario Bros U is no exception.

Android Jelly Bean 4.2 Update for the Galaxy Nexus & Galaxy 7

by Blogger ‎11-17-2012 03:51 PM - edited ‎11-17-2012 03:51 PM

If you’re the proud owner of one of Google’s Galaxy Nexux or Nexuz 7 Android tablets then I’m sure you’ll be quite happy to hear that Google has Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) on its way to you through an over-the-air update. What's even better is that you don’t have to wait if you don’t want to. Google even lets you manually update your firmware to the latest Jelly Bean build and enjoy all those features before the over-the-air update rolls out to you. That option is only viable for GSM Galaxy Nexus owners, but if you’ve got a Nexus 7 you’re good to go.

How to set up a great PC gaming cockpit

One of my favorite aspects of PC gaming is how extreme you can take things. You can really push the limits and create a setup thats amazingly immersive. Sure, you could just click away on the usual keyboard and mouse but if you really want to you can build yourself a complete, hardcore simulation cockpit battlestation. There's really nothing like it, and can be as much fun to set up to your liking as it is to actually use to play games.

Review: Livescribe Sky Wifi Smartpen

by Blogger on ‎11-17-2012 05:00 AM

Its easy to say that we’re living in the digital age and proclaim the dawn of the paperless office but for many, there is simply no substitute for a good pen and paper. Whether in lectures, meetings, or even just a coffee shop, you can’t beat the 1:1 tactile interface and visceral feeling of putting pen to paper. Its what a lot of people are used to and most comfortable with, great for efficient and distraction free note taking.

Review: Assassin's Creed III

assassins-creed-iii-ps3-nuevo_MCO-F-3317853314_102012.jpgWith gamers getting spoiled for choice this holiday season, one of the biggest titles out now is Assassin’s Creed III from Ubisoft Montreal. This high profile title is one of the most ambitious games in the ever popular Assassin’s Creed franchise to date. This time we see our tale transplanted to the new world where the son of a British father and Mohawk mother struggles through an expansive tale  during the period of American Revolution from 1753 to 1783.

Wii U Third Party.jpg

With the Wii U's release only days away, there are still a few more third-party ports I didn't have a chance to tell you about.  So far I've covered a wide variety of games and genres, but I haven't covered all the sports games the console will have to offer including NBA 2K13, FIFA Soccer 13 and Madden NFL 13.  With the help of the innovative new Gamepad, playing these games will be unlike anything you've experienced yet.

No longer the new kid on the block, Sonos has managed to distinguish itself as a quality manufacturer since their inception in 2002. Their interesting philosophy to audio engineering focuses primarily on developing accessories which cater specifically to digital sources. It’s a unique approach to speaker design, but can these new configurations outperform their classical counterparts?

Review: Audiofly AF56 In-Ear Headphones

by Blogger on ‎11-14-2012 04:46 PM - last edited on ‎01-16-2013 02:57 PM by JorgeM Recognized Expert

With the enormous range of headphone brands on the market today, it might be a little jarring figuring out which ones to look out for.  I can sympathize, and often find myself perplexed and overwhelmed by all the diferent names and model numbers.  Experiencing that satisfying, rich bass is amazing enough, but finding a product that effortlessly marries that boom with equally satisfying high end trebles is something else entirely.  Luckily, it looks like Australian brand Audiofly has it down to a tee. Much like the House of Marley series, Audiofly's products prove just how passionate and quality-conscious the team is all while suiting a wide spectrum of listeners.

Engineered specifically for Apple’s Airplay technology, Pioneer enters the fray with the A1, A3, and A4 Wireless Speakers.  So how well do they stack up to comparably priced systems? To answer that question, we’ll need to take a more detailed examination of these three devices.

It looks like RIM will actually stick to a deadline this time. BlackBerry 10 will be officially unveiled at a launch event that will take place in multiple countries (including Canada) on January 30, 2013. In addition to the new platform, the first two BlackBerry 10 smartphones will also be showcased.
