This is my first post about CES 2012, and, yes, I know the show was a month ago, so you’re probably wondering what took me so long, when my fellow Tech Bloggers managed to get quite a few CES posts up over the past few weeks. Well, I won’t make too many excuses. Suffice to say, it was my first CES, so I had no idea what to expect. The show totally burnt me out after only a few days, and I had to go on vacation soon after the show. Anyways, enough about me, onto the article, which will be the first of many tardy updates about CES from me.
If you are a little confused as to why I am looking for an ice cream sandwich at an electronics show, I’ll fill you in a bit first. Ice Cream Sandwich (which I will refer to as ICS going forward) is Google’s code name for the latest and greatest version of their Android OS – Android 4.0. Launched late last year on Samsung’s new flagship phone, the Galaxy Nexus (available from Future Shop on Bell, Virgin, Telus, Rogers, Fido and Sasktel), ICS is the first version of Android to be designed from the ground up for both tablets and phones.

When I wrote my predictions for 2012, I'll be honest - I pulled them out of my .. um, well I pulled them out of thin air. That said, I did say Infographics would explode, RIM would be in trouble, and IPOswould be big. I'll take 3/3 on those.

I live in a province with distracted driving legislation. While it's perfectly legal to drive with a dog in your lap or noisy kids in the car, you can't eat a burger, adjust your GPS or fire off a tweet - even at a red light.
If the cops really wanted to stop distracted driving, they'd make it mandatory for phones to have the securafone app installed. One that prevents emailing and texting when travelling over 25km/h.

TV numbers aren't shrinking. It counteracts conventional wisdom, that tv should have it's revenue grow in an era of time shifting, PVRs, piracy and streaming. But it's true.

There's no denying Facebook's Timeline feature is controversial. In fact, recent online polls indicate 70 percent of users hate the new mandatory feature. That certainly isn't the reaction Facebook was looking for. Well here's a fun little website that can help ease your pain, allowing you to make a cool movie out of your own Timeline.

The financial woes for the video game industry deepened this past week with THQ announcing a $56 million loss for their financial quarter ending December 31, 2011. This loss comes days after reports that THQ recently underwent a wave of layoffs, which affected their administrative and publishing departments. While the news is pretty grim, if there is a silver lining here at all it's that rumours of THQ's demise has been greatly exaggerated.
