iPhoto [$4.99] has moved to iOS devices, and while you can do some magical photo editing with your fingers, I'm still not sold on it as a great choice for iPhone
Here's a review of the things you can (and can't) do with iPhoto on your iPhone.

It’s Thursday morning and I’m sitting in a Starbucks in New Westminster, BC. Across from me is Gord Webster from Fujifilm. I’ve known Gord for going on five years; he’s one of those guys who gets photography and–more than that–he’s the type of guy that gets cameras, too. On the table in front of us is Fujifilm’s X-Pro1. Gord doesn’t say
anything, he’s just letting me take it in.
There are a few things that I’m thinking at this point: ‘It’s gorgeous,’ is one of the them. ‘It’s looks like a classic,’ is another. I finally manage to voice something: “I want one.”
Gord smiles at me with a chuckle and shakes his head. “I can’t leave it with you right now, I’ve got another show to go to... but how about next week?” I agree, and silently repeat the words

RIM's BlackBerry Mini Keyboard with Convertible Case is actually two products. A standalone Bluetooth Mini Keyboard and a Convertible Case designed to hold both the PlayBook and the keyboard while on the go. Freeing up limited screen real estate and giving users a better QWERTY keyboard typing experience (plus a trackpad) the Mini Keyboard will be a popular add on to input oriented PlayBook users.
The Convertible Case, not so much.

The momentum behind the Samsung Galaxy S Series continues on, now that the Galaxy S II HD LTE is coming to Canada within weeks. The phone has been out in South Korea and the U.S. already (it’s called the SkyRocket down south), but now it appears that one or all of the ‘Big 3’ carriers will launch it here imminently.
In my post yesterday, I talked about Nokia’s plans for Windows Phone in Canada. Currently, Microsoft’s OS has quite a small market share worldwide, and an even smaller one in Canada, and I think that Nokia’s handsets will be the ones that finally make Windows Phone a true contender in the smartphone wars.
While I have always thought that Windows Phone is one of the best mobile OS’s available today, the unexciting hardware that it launched on, especially in Canada, really held it back. The first generation of devices from LG, HTC, and Samsung did little to differentiate themselves from their Android cousins, hardware-wise. While the new ‘Mango’ (Window Phone 7.5) handsets from the same three vendors did improve the situation a bit, none of them (apart from perhaps the HTC Titan II, which isn’t available in Canada) really stood out from the sea of Androids either.
Nokia has finally got it right. Their Lumia series of phones are beautiful pieces of industrial design, which look just as good off as they do on. Nokia is also smart enough to know that they have to bring more than just good design and a great OS to the table to succeed. With that in mind, the Nokia Lumia phones have some exclusive apps, and in the video, that you can watch after the break, you can see some of them in action on the Lumia 800.
This is an image heavy post, so it may take a while to load on slower internet connections

The original Samsung Galaxy Note only came out in Canada six weeks ago in its original black design, but all three major carriers have confirmed that they will be releasing a new white version of the phone (or is it a phablet?). The Rogers and Telus versions are now available in Future Shop stores.
Odds are that if you owned a cellphone over 10 year ago you probably had a Nokia candy-bar phone at one time or another. Maybe it was a Clearnet Nokia 6185, or perhaps a Fido Nokia 3390, both simple, well-made phones that excelled in their primary function – making calls. They were also great devices to play the greatest mobile game of all-time - Snake! However, as the 2000’s rolled on, Nokia’s popularity in North America waned. They were slow to react to the rise in popularity of flip-phones, and then slow to react to the popularity of the iPhone.
While Nokia was one of the pioneers of the smartphone market, their Symbian OS-based smartphones never really took off in North America. Last year, after they saw their market share being further eroded worldwide by the iPhone and Android onslaught, their new CEO, Canadian Steven Elop, threw in the towel. He basically killed Symbian and tied Nokia’s fate to another tech giant struggling in the post-PC mobile world, his former employer, Microsoft. Going forward, Nokia’s phones would run Windows Phone.
While I was at CES, I had a chance to sit down with Richard White, the General Manager of Nokia Canada. In the video, viewable after the break, I ask him a few questions about the new Lumias, and Nokia’s plans for Windows Phone in Canada.

This is going to sound like a paid testimonial, but it’s not. I haven’t even spoken to someone from LowePro in going on three or four years now, but time was that I did, fairly regularly too. They’re good folks over there, you can tell that they actually use the products they sell. I remember the first time someone talked to me about the Slingshot AW200 that I still use to this day; he was incredibly excited about it, and in under five minute he had me searching for some way to give him money so I could shut him up and go start using the thing myself. True story.
But the title of this blog is all about a wallet, so what’s that about? Well, above you can see something that looks similar to my old wallet. It was over ten years ago that I acquired that at a photo convention in Toronto. It was a giveaway in a goodie bag, a fairly innocuous little thing. I made a joking promise to myself at the time: I’d keep using this wallet until it broke.

Okay, you know what an Easter Egg is - a tasty treat hidden by the Easter Bunny, but do you know what an easter egg is?
These are usually something tricky hidden by developers for people to find and discover on their own - a special little treat, just like their chocolate cousins.
Here are a few geeky easter eggs you can try to celebrate the season:
UPDATE: Both the Nokia Lumia 900 and HTC One X mentioned in this post are now available at Future Shop.
As someone from “the most hated city in Canada”, I often forget that the GTA isn’t the centre of the Canadian tech universe. Case in point would be the super-fast LTE networks (to learn more about LTE, you read TeddyK’s tech blog post) that Rogers, Bell and Telus have launched. Since LTE is available in Toronto, I sometimes forget that it’s not yet available for everyone in Canada.
Rogers’ LTE network initially launched in Ottawa last summer, then expanded to Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal in the fall. Yesterday, they announced that “Canada's fastest and largest LTE network” is now live in Calgary and Halifax, and will be coming to Edmonton soon. In a statement, Rogers VP John Boynton had this to say:
"We're thrilled to offer our LTE network to even more Canadians in the east and the west. Now, Calgarians and Haligonians can enjoy the benefits of speeds on their mobile devices comparable to what they would get at home. And, they can do it on an LTE network that is Canada's fastest and largest for a robust and reliable experience."
There was also some exciting news about the HTC One X, coming soon to Rogers, that you can read about after the break.

The enormously popular franchise Pro Evolution Soccer is back for an eleventh installment. PES 2012 3D on the Nintendo 3DS is probably the strongest sports game we’ve seen on the handheld so far and really worth a closer look.
Well, yes, April 1st is long gone by now, but as usual every game developer worth their salt got it together to publish an April Fool, and as usual, every idea was so brilliant we all became bitterly upset that these things weren't real.

Back in November, we were talking about a new Kinect program set to emerge early this year called The Kinect Accelerator. This program, powered by TechStars, would give businesses, entrepreneurs, engineers and innovators the tools to develop applications that could help improve their own projects and potentially revolutionize entire industries with motion-control and voice technology. Today that program is now in session and 500 applications later, Microsoft has finally narrowed it down to eleven lucky finalists from across the globe.

The new Apple TV has received much less fanfare as the new iPad. Both were released 3 weeks ago, and while you may be constanly craving the new iPad, the new Apple TV will offer an equally jaw dropping experience, for much less money.
Here's a review of the new Apple TV.
