Speaking of changing the clock and daylight savings ...

by Blogger on ‎03-07-2014 01:16 AM - last edited on ‎03-12-2014 02:03 PM by Blog Editor in Chief

It's that time of the year...again. You ask: "What time is it?” It's that terrible time of year when we lose an hour of our precious sleep.

REMEMBER: this Sunday, the 9th of March at 2 A.M. we push it forward to 3 A.M...all of Canada except: Saskatchewan (except Denare Beach and Creighton), Fort St. John, Charlie Lake, Taylor, Dawson Creek and Creston in the East Kootenays of BC.

I don't know about you, but I love my sleep. One of my most favourite feelings is the realisation that, when I wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning and look at my alarm clock, I can sleep for another hour or (if I'm lucky) hour and a half. Bliss. But how in the world would I ever experience that without my clock? Nowadays a clock is almost like an entrainment centre and there's something for everyone. You doubt that? Let's take a look...

Polar Loop and Bluetooth Heart Rate Sensor H7.jpg

Reaching fitness goals takes more than just trying to run one kilometre four times a week. It requires making the right choices that increase your physical activity level and improve your health. The Polar Loop is the latest in a series of activity trackers that can help you make the right choices while having fun along the way. Over the past couple weeks, I had the opportunity to test the Polar Loop Activity Tracker with the Polar H7 Heart Rate Sensor and here’s my take on them:

Design & Create Your Own Stylish Master Bedroom

by Blogger on ‎02-17-2014 06:05 PM - last edited on ‎02-19-2014 11:57 AM by Blog Editor in Chief

For many of us, the Master Bedroom is the last room in the house to be fully decorated and furnished. This may be owing to the fact that it's probably the least likely room to be shown to our visitors, so maybe it's the safest room to leave undecorated when furnishing our homes. In any case, I have recently learned that February is Bedroom Month. Who knew? It probably has something to do with Valentine's Day. So maybe now's the time to finally finishing decorating the one room that we spend more time in than any otherthe master bedroom. If you'd like a few suggestions on just how to accomplish this goal, click through and read my blog!

Review: PowerBall 250Hz AutoStart Gyroscopic Exercise Tool

by Blogger on ‎01-31-2014 07:22 PM - last edited on ‎02-21-2014 02:45 PM by Blog Editor in Chief

I’m at the gym four days a week; it’s part of a bigger picture plan to get into the best shape ever and join Future Shop’s Elliott Chun on one of those ridiculous Tough Mudder things that he does.

I’m also a fair-weather rock climber, hitting in-door gyms across the lower mainland in search of heights that aren’t high enough to trigger my crippling fear of heights.

What do both of these activities have in common? They’ve both exposed how woefully unprepared my grip is, and how weak my wrists have been in the past. Today we’re looking at the PowerBall AutoStart 250Hz. What is it? It’s the path to better wrist and grip strength, and it’s the goofiest thing you’ll do all day.

Blendtec Smoothies

Smoothies in the winter, say what? You heard correctly. Perhaps this refreshing drink isn’t seasonal, but it sure is good for you during the winter months. I understand that you’d prefer to cozy up with something warm like soup or coffee during the cold season.  But a healthy smoothie is packed with vitamins and antioxidants, which can give your immune system a boost. In addition, a delicious smoothie can help prevent the common cold during the long winter months.  Another great reason to drink smoothies is to help detox your system, after you’ve over-indulged on the gluttonous holiday foods. It’s a refreshing way to get back to your healthy eating patterns and fight the bulge.

by Blogger on ‎12-17-2013 09:04 PM - last edited on ‎04-10-2014 04:09 PM by Blog Editor in Chief

Blendtec is widely famous for its “Will It Blend?” YouTube series. If you are like me, you’re amazed and shocked at how they blend even the latest gadgets, like an iPhone 5s Gold. Yes, they turned it into Gold dust. I must say, it was hard to fathom destroying an iPhone 5s, yet impressed by its blending power. Every video proves that Blendtec is a high-powered blender that can blend pretty much anything, even Justin Beiber

 Julia Child

Julia Child famously said “This is my invariable advice to people: Learn how to cook—try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, BE FEARLESS, and above all have fun.” I love this quote, as it’s inspiring yet the most encouraging tip before I try a new recipe. When we grace the kitchen with a new culinary adventure, we might not be perfect but our mistakes allow us to take away a great lesson for next time. For this holiday season, do you have someone who loves to cook and/or wants to learn to cook? Let’s take Julia Child’s advice and add the right tools to make the process easier and more fun. Here are the best kitchen gadget gift ideas to bring out that special someone’s inner creative chef.
