Destiny Title.jpg

Bungie has been pushing the boundaries of how we play games for over 10 years now. If you play console games, regardless of if you enjoy them or not, you should be no stranger to the Halo games. After years of waiting Bungie is now bringing us a whole new way to play first person shooters with the long awaited and potentially ground breaking Destiny.

Review: Alien: Isolation cranks up the tension and delivers the horror circa 1979

In 1979, director Ridley Scott unleashed the sci-fi/horror phenomenon Alien on the world. Since then, the franchise has spawned its share of sequels, novels, comic books, and yes, video games. While Scott's universe has growth, its mythos expanded over time, there's still something very special about the unique, sublime sense of genuine horror so brilliantly preserved in that first film - a feeling that is captured once again in Alien: Isolation.

Super Smash Club is Sponsored by Future Shop.jpg

This past weekend I had the privilege of dropping by the inaugural Super Smash Club event held at District 28 in downtown Toronto to celebrate the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Super Smash Club is a Canadian-exclusive initiative created by Nintendo, and sponsored by Future Shop, that lets fans participate in the launch of Super Smash Bros. at live events across the country, and share their excitement for the franchise online through community-driven social media contests. It was amazing to see first-hand at the Toronto event just how passionate the Canadian fans of Super Smash Bros. are about this franchise--come take a look for yourself!

Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair - logo.jpg

Danganronpa on PlayStation Vita is a game series that flew under my radar earlier this year when the first game, Trigger Happy Havoc, released in February. After spending weeks playing through the sequel, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, it was such a great experience that I immediately picked up the original game to fill in the backstory of this thoroughly engaging narrative. If you’re an adult that enjoys captivating visual novels and own a PS Vita, then Danganronpa 2 is absolutely a must-play adventure.

Review: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Looks good and plays great!

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Title.jpg

I have always liked how competitive fighting games get so many sequels and definitive editions. Players need to feel them out a bit and developers get to make tweaks, adjustments or even introduce new characters. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax not only brings back many of the Persona 3 and 4 characters it also offers an amazing improvement on a great fighting game.

Take one look at the PlayStation TV's feature list and you're bound to be impressed: the ability to play over 700 PlayStation game titles out of the box, access TV, movie, and music media via online apps, steam your PS4 games to other TVs in your home with Remote Play, and full access to Sony's video game streaming rental service, PlayStation Now. All this from a device no bigger than a deck of cards and very reasonably priced. It's an offer, on paper, that seems hard to pass up.

Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare Title.jpg

No matter how you look at it the casual gaming market is getting bigger and is becoming one of the more sought after demographics in gaming. The mobile industry is basically a casual gaming battle ground fought by games like Candy Crush Saga, Clash of Clans, Game of War, Cut The Rope and the list goes on. One game that made a huge splash on the mobile market was Plants Vs Zombies by EA. A rather light hearted take on the tower defense genre, where one must protect their garden from the incoming waves of zombies. Now this was a good game for a more casual market but when EA showed off their latest instalment in the series, for the console market, Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, hardcore gamers started taking note and for a good reason. So lock and load that peashooter, its time to defend the garden!
