Publisher NIS America continues its tradition of bringing great Japanese role-playing game (JRPG) imports to Europe and North America with their latest release, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited. The game is a port of 2011’s Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten on PS3, but features a plethora of new goodies packed into the handheld version, including brand new content in the form of unique back story-driven scenarios, new spells, techniques, characters, and cameo appearances from past Disgaea favourites, as well as all the previous DLC from the PlayStation 3 version of the game already packed in. As a PS3 title, Disgaea 4 was robust to say the least. With a healthy injection of upgrades and additions exclusive to the PlayStation Vita, Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited is jam-packed with content!

It's a big week in gaming with Cologne, Germany, hosting Gamescom 2014. This large gaming trade fair has become like a mini-E3 Expo, with many major gaming players in attendance revealing new games, hardware and other surprises. Earlier we had a look at Microsoft's press conference, and the great new Xbox One bundles coming this fall, and now it's time to see what Sony had to show off. How about games, games, and more games!

With both of these hitting shelves in time for the holiday season, gamers now have more choice than ever when shopping for an Xbox One.

It's August, which means it's time for the gaming industry to start heating up again as we inch closer to the big holiday rush. This month you can expect the next entry in EA Sports' hugely popular Madden NFL football franchise, the definitive update version of Street Fighter IV, next-gen versions of Diablo III and two Metro games, the long-awaited Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright crossover game, and that's not all "doods"! (I just had to throw in that Disgaea 4 reference, another game releasing this month.)

Let's take a look at the games!

Review: Tomodachi Life is a hilarious daily companion game for Nintendo 3DS

Tomodachi Life - your friends your drama your life.jpg

It's been a long time since I've laughed so hard playing a video game as I did with Tomodachi Life, Nintendo's new "life simulation" game for Nintendo 3DS. Inspired by games like The Sims and Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life is a unique take on the genre that allows you to import or design your own Mii characters, and interact with them as they go about their daily lives. By its presentation and early gameplay trailers, I assumed that the game would be quirky and light-hearted, and it certainly is, but what I didn't expect was how outrageously funny this game can be.

Review: Trials Fusion is an exhilarating and challenging ride

Trials Fusion Arctic Level.jpg

With news this past week that Trials Fusion has officially become a million unit seller, this game has certainly become a smash hit. If you've yet to check out this game, you're missing out on one of the best racing/platform games to release on next-generation consoles. I've been hooked on this game for some time now, and trust me, if you're looking for an exciting racing game with a strong online community, and don't mind a steep challenge, you'll have an absolute blast playing this game.
