Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy - cover.jpg

It seems rather befitting that the most refined of gentlemen, the incomparable Professor Layton, would conclude his second and final trilogy with one of his most dashing adventures yet. In Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy for Nintendo 3DS, our puzzle-solving archaeological professor embarks on his boldest expedition to date – a globe-trotting quest to uncover the mysteries behind the ancient Azran civilization. Titanfall Toronto Launch Event - Playing Multiplayer.jpg

The atmosphere was electric inside Toronto’s Tattoo Rock Parlour on Monday night as hundreds of Xbox fans packed into the nightclub location to celebrate the big launch of Respawn Entertainment’s debut game, the PC- and Xbox-exclusive Titanfall. As soon as I was ushered into the Titanfall-branded “briefing room” and greeted by a personalized video introduction from Steve Fukuda, Game Designer for Titanfall at Respawn, I knew I was about to experience something special. My mission for the night, according to Fukuda, was to be among the first in Canada to experience first-hand their genre-defining first-person action title.

It was a mission I readily and enthusiastically accepted.

Diablo III's Huge Patch Optimizes Game in Advance of 'Reaper of Souls'

by Blogger ‎03-09-2014 01:52 PM - edited ‎03-09-2014 02:02 PM

Diablo III - Logo.jpg

Let's face it: when Diablo III released on PC nearly two years ago, it was a game with great ambition, yet mired by horrendous technical issues and one really awful design choice. While the server problems were remedied within a few week after launch, the fact remained that Diablo III's loot system and Auction House both served to undermine the main reason for playing a Diablo game in the first place -- the incredible satisfaction that comes with slaying foul demons and being rewarded with ridiculously awesome loot.

In the years since, Blizzard Entertainment have taken fan complaints seriously and promised to remedy them with a game patch called version 2.0.1. Well, that patch has now been released and the changes are nothing short of monumental. So much has been overhauled, the 2.0.1 patch notes alone span a whopping 98 pages (seriously, I counted how many "Page Dn" key tabs it took to reach the bottom!)

Everything from the loot system, to character classes, to the game's difficulty, and much more, have been completely revamped with the single focus of improving the overall gameplay experience. If you're a Diablo fan, you simply have to come see what's new!

Plantronics RIG Gaming Headset + Mixer - Review

by Blogger on ‎03-05-2014 08:27 PM - last edited on ‎03-07-2014 09:34 AM by Blog Editor in Chief

Plantronics RIG - full system.jpg

When researching over-the-ear headphones, the first aspect I always pay attention to is what device(s) it’s designed for, be it PC, smartphones/tablets, or gaming consoles.  I want to make sure first and foremost that the headphones are compatible with the devices I have in mind, but moreover, I want the assurance that they’re also optimized for those same devices.  So, for example, it’s vitally important that over-the-ear headphones for my iPhone have a sturdy headband to keep them firmly in place while listening on-the-go. Conversely, for a PC or gaming headphones, having crystal clear mic audio is definitely a must-have, but I also want to make sure the headphones remain comfortable for long gaming sessions.

I was very pleasantly surprised, then, when I realized that the Plantronics RIG stereo Headset + Mixer made my preliminary research easy – as it was designed to be a true all-in-one stereo headset. Not only is the headset created with the comfort and quality needed for intense PC or console gaming, but it is also designed to quickly and easily convert into portable headphones for listening to music on-the-go. As I looked further into the product, I got even more excited because of the included mixer – the system's central component that allows you to seamlessly switch between, or mix, your game and phone audio. Recently, I was lucky enough to get my hands on sample Plantronics RIG unit, and I have to say, it really is as great as it seems.

Xbox One Titanfall Console Coming March 11

Xbox One Titanfall Console - box angled.jpg

Calling Titanfall the most important game on the release schedule for Xbox One is not hyperbole -- this is a game that has been turning heads across the industry since its major unveiling at Microsoft's E3 press conference last year in Los Angeles. Titanfall has everything going for it: top game critics are absolutely raving about it, over 2 million fans recently flocked to its public beta, the development team consists of many of the key people behind the Call of Duty series, and it has the full backing of game publishing powerhouse Electronic Arts. Microsoft too is behind this game is a big way, not only securing exclusivity for the lifetime of the title on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, but also as we've seen, commerating the game's launch with a sleek Limited Edition Xbox One Titanfall Controller.

That's not all though, as Microsoft just this week announced that coming March 11, the same date as Titanfall's North American launch, they will be releasing an exclusive Xbox One Titanfall Console bundle. If you've been waiting for Titanfall to jump into the Xbox One experience, this bundle is definitely the way to go. Curious to know what's inside? Let's have a look!
