Yesterday among all the big announcements coming out of Gamescom, we learned about two new Xbox One bundles that would be available in Canada: The Sunset Overdrive Special Edition Bundle, and the Limited Edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Bundle. With both of these hitting shelves in time for the holiday season, gamers now have more choice than ever when shopping for an Xbox One.

Skullcandy headphones have been a staple of my gaming life for quite some time now. I’ve been using the Skull Crushers for easily 5 years now. They have always offered good sound and cool design for a decent price. Since they acquired Astro Gaming, it was only a matter of time before Skullcandy made the step to gaming headsets and with the SLYR, the PLYR 2 and the PLYR 1 they are offering good headsets at competitive prices.

When I last wrote about a TV, I reviewed the 70-inch Sharp LED Smart TV, and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. It, like other smart TVs in its class, bridged the gap between standard picture monitor and all-out hanging a computer on your wall. With sharp colors, a Smart HUB for social media and streaming and a browser for all your surfing needs, what more could anyone really ask for?  Well, for starters, an easier way to navigate through all the aforementioned features.  It seems that little problem is now solved in the form of the Microsoft All-in-One Media Keyboard.

The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate gaming keyboard earns its name.

When it comes to gear for gamers, it can be tricky to pick out the best stuff. There are a lot of claims of exciting features, and flashy designs but you don’t always know how useful those features are going to be and flashy designs aren’t indicative of quality. One of my favorite brands in this area is Razer, who tends to make their PC gaming accessories with relatively subtle and understated looks but with a focus on precise and high performance functionality. Razer’s original BlackWidow has for a long time been one of those super-popular products that others in the field are compared against. They basically pioneered mechanical gaming keyboards in fact. Not to rest on their laurels, Razer presents an updated BlackWidow Ultimate keyboard which, on the outside retains Razer’s classic looks, but has some significant changes beneath the surface making it one of the best keyboards out there for the PC gaming enthusiast.

Logitech G-Series PC gaming accessory roundup

Since I was a kid, some of the best PC gaming accessories have come from Logitech. It seems like they’ve always taken PC gaming seriously. I’ve been spending some time trying out the different accessories in Logitech’s G-Series lineup of PC hardware build specifically with gamers in mind. It is certainly a broad product range, with options for those on a budget, those looking for a premium experience, and everyone in between. Across the board no matter which G-Series accessory I look at it was interesting to see a very consistent focus on an edgy ‘gamer’ style, and core features gearing this stuff ideally for gaming in mind.

Review: Stinky Footboard PC foot controller

by Blogger on ‎10-14-2013 06:25 PM - last edited on ‎10-18-2013 12:22 PM by Blog Editor in Chief

Stinky foot controller.jpg

As a kid taking piano lessons, I always looked at the foot pedals on pianos and organs and thought those would be perfect to control my computer. It would make me feel like some sort of cyberpunk phantom of the opera. That memory came flooding back when I got to test out the Stinky Footboard PC foot controller recently. Think of it like a large custom-mapable footpad. You place a foot (or feet) on it and control it by shifting weight on it to the left, right, forward, and backward.

The first time I came across Gunnar Optik's Gaming Glasses I honestly wasn't sure what to think.  Meant to cut down on eye strain, headaches, double vision and dry eyes while gaming, Gunnar's capabilities seemed a little too good to be true.  However, as someone who used to get bad eye strain from playing hours upon hours of games growing up, I couldn't help but wonder, 'what if?'.

One of the first complaints we heard about the iPad was decrying the lousy speaker setup. It faces the wrong way, and has tinny sound with low volume. If your audio experience is really important to you, then the Belkin Thunderstorm can help solve that issue once and for all. It transforms the iPad into a great mobile cinematic home theatre experience, perfect for movies and games.
