by Blogger on ‎10-17-2014 12:39 PM - last edited on ‎10-17-2014 01:10 PM by Blog Editor in Chief

It's wonderful seeing tablets grow increasingly popular with each passing year. They’re becoming invaluable devices for anyone who needs more than a smartphone, but less than a desktop workstation PC. These days there are so many tablet options that you can surely find one to suit your needs and one of the big factors in your decision ought to be screen size. The size of your tablet’s screen can make a big impact on how you use the device in the future. It impacts how portable the device is, sure. Obviously a mini-tablet is easier to carry around than a jumbo-tablet, but it is so much more than that. Depending on which screen size you go for, it can affect how you hold your tablet, how useful it is for certain tasks, and of course how much you’ll be spending.

by Blogger on ‎01-08-2014 04:06 AM - last edited on ‎02-24-2014 02:45 PM by Blog Editor in Chief

It could be argued that Samsung’s Galaxy Note tablets were always more “pro” than the Tab models were. The latter was more about value for the price, while the former offered better specs and unique functionality. There appears to be a greater synergy between the two lines now that they are linked by screen size, form factor and software. I got a hands-on look at both and here are my initial thoughts.

Review: Dell Venue 8 Pro Windows tablet

Dell Venue 8 Pro main.jpg

The 8-inch tablet race isn’t one with a lot of players, but it may be the one to watch moving forward into 2014. Dell seems to think so, too, and has entered the fray with a Windows 8 tablet that runs a full version of the operating system and includes a pre-installed copy of Office Home and Student. It’s an intriguing combination of PC software mixed with the portability of a tablet, but how does a more unhindered Windows 8 look and feel on an 8-inch display?

Furby Boom Application and Toy.jpg

With much anticipation, a new generation of the Furby has arrived! After hatching into the toy scene in 1998, this robotic critter instantly became one of the must-have toys of the year. Well known for its charming and playful personality, this furry hamster-owl-like critter has a mind of its own and interacts when you talk, pet, tickle, or feed it. Hasbro’s revival of Furby in 2012 boosted interactivity to a whole new level. It’s amazing to see how this classic childhood toy has evolved over the years to keep up with the digital age. Even more exciting is the recent unveiling of the Furby Boom, which has brought about tremendous change, especially in its free partner application.

Kobo’s new Aura is a great 6” e-Reader suitable for reading day or night. It has a high quality illuminated e-Ink screen with intuitive touch controls. At first glance it may not be the flashiest gadget you could buy but that is one of the aspects of the Aura that makes it so great. If you’ve ever considered picking up an e-Reader, or your existing reader is starting to show its age, you really owe it to yourself to take a look at the Kobo Aura.

Review: Dell XPS 12

If you can’t decide between getting a laptop or a tablet, Dell has you covered with the XPS 12.

It’s a laptop. It’s a tablet. It’s the computer you want, whenever you want it.

Transforming it back and forth between the two modes is super quick and easy. In a second you can just flip the touchscreen around to make the change so it is flexible for work, play, and everything in between. That makes is a super all-round machine no matter what your needs.

Finding a case for your tablet or eReader isn’t hard, but finding a really good one isn’t easy, either. Protection, portability and design are all important factors, of course, but when you also have something that fits almost anything, regardless of brand, you have a pretty good combination. The Solo Universal Fit Tablet and eReader case aspires to be just that type of product, and it succeeds fairly well at doing so.

by Blogger ‎08-03-2013 02:27 PM - edited ‎08-06-2013 06:28 PM

Having a great keyboard case for your iPad is one of those things that’s easy to dismiss as something you don’t need. Once you try one out, however, you’ll find the convenience of having a full physical keyboard integrated into your iPad case something you don’t want to live without again. In the iPad keyboard case department there are a bunch of options to choose from, but the Profolio from Zagg Keys really stands out from the pack.
