Preview: LG G Flex curved smartphone coming to Future Shop

LG G Flex preview.jpgLG has confirmed that it will launch the G Flex, its vaunted curved smartphone, exclusive to Rogers, and sold at Future Shop on a date that is still to be determined. The curved phone has been out in South Korea since last fall, but was shown off at CES in Las Vegas last month, where I got some personal time with it. Curved OLED and 4K Ultra HD TVs are once again all over the show floor at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, but LG is hoping to invigorate a part of the TV that could use a fresh start: smart TV interfaces. This has been a struggle for all TV manufacturers, and is perhaps part of the reason why small streaming boxes like the Roku and Apple TV have become so popular. I got a good look at the new-look webOS on LG’s upcoming TVs and it seems like they may be on the right track.

Many people craving more screen real-estate like to set up multi-monitor rigs for their PCs. you can double your desktop area by adding a second monitor after all. That used to seem like a great solution until I got to spend some time with this LG 21:9 UltaWide IPS monotir. Sure I could get two or three regular-sized monitors to connect to my PC ... but instead I think I’d much rather have something like this screen. Its huge, it performs wonderfully, and is simply striking to behold.
