Traveling with kids is not easy! But then again, I wouldn't really know because I don't have any yet. But then again, again, I think I can imagine a little something about it. For that reason, I've put together a list of 5 useful... possibly useful... hopefully useful items to have handy when traveling with kids. I've targeted 5 specific areas (themes really) to strive for at trip time, and those areas are these: Utility, Comfort, Transport, Eats, & Entertainment / Leisure. The items I've selected are not all directed towards a specific age group. Some are for really small children, others are better suited to slightly older ones. Whether or not the suggestions are useful is entirely up to you, but the only way to make that call is to click through and read on...

It seems to me that everyone hits a point in their life where they’ve finally had enough. For me it was at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, standing forlornly in a crowd of hundreds; my underwear, toiletries, socks and shirts strewn all over the floor outside of a cheap bag that had just gasped its final breath.

I can’t blame it entirely on the bag; my good friends at American Airlines had bent it into a shape that wasn’t entirely rectangular anymore, putting stresses on the seams and zippers. Still, I’d only owned the bag for about a year, and there it lay before me, dead as a doornail.

There’s a lot to be said for buying quality, and there are only so many bagsplosions that you can take. That’s why I’m intrigued by Future Shop’s news that they’re carrying Tumi Alpha line of luggage and bags: I thought I’d take a closer look.

You are packing for your next trip, and have placed a few shirts, two pairs of jeans, sandals, runners, and heels. Next thing you know, the suitcase is FULL. Traveling has become more difficult and restrictive. Airlines are measuring every ounce and inch of your suitcase only to get the opportunity to charge you more. For that reason, make sure you are using a suitcase that has the right measurements for a carry-on or check-in luggage. In addition, make sure your suitcase is light to begin with. You are limited to a certain number of kg and lbs, and it’s not worth wasting that weight on the heft of your luggage. For the ladies, that could mean bringing an extra pair of shoes.

Thanks to Ogio, I was sent the [Radica 22“ - Travel](http://ogio.ca/travel/radica22) and Layover - Travel carry-on bags (some folks call them ”roll aboards") to check out. Most of you know that I really dig good bags. I’m rather picky about what makes a good laptop bag and I’m even pickier when it comes to bags I travel with. I’ve always loved Ogio bags. I had a laptop bag with the best feature ever—a special pocket on the back of the bag just for a boarding pass or ticket. Just genius. I was, as you can imagine, expecting the same kind of attention to detail as I remember from a laptop bag (over 5 years ago now)—and I wasn’t disappointed.
