Audio power ratings can be some of the most ambiguous and confusing specifications to understand.  After all, there’s maximum power, nominal power, RMS power, continuous power, peak power, program power, and the list goes on.  Manufacturers have a habit of stamping big numbers on their product packaging because after all, big numbers sell products, right?  But bigger isn’t necessarily better, and hopefully, after we sift through some of the terminology and technical jargon, you will understand why.
