Miolifesaves.jpgSmartphones and tablets have more features and functionality than ever before and as they are more connected and do more, the need to keep our devices powered through the day becomes more important. While many mobile devices are now sporting sealed-in batteries, which are not user replaceable, there has been a steady increase of external batteries that can charge and power our devices while on the go.

Computer-Backup-Storage-Reviews.jpg

As we increasingly work and move between computers and mobile devices, the need to consider constant and secure backup strategies becomes more important. For the back to school season, there are various hardware and software solutions that enable quick, effortless and safe backup solutions for our vital information, projects and critical e-mails as well as the documents we need for reference and for submission.

A good backup solution begins with a plan and knowing that at any given time you need to have at least two secure backups of your most recent work and documents. USB thumbdrives, external hard drives and nearby servers are all good ideas but most people should look at having a third option and one that is possibly offsite. Asus isn’t trying to revamp the router’s image, but it is taking a stab at making it look nicer and perform more efficiently. Here is a look at a group of the latest from the company heading to Future Shop.

The box for the  Sony Alpha A6000 Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera is deceptively small, just like the camera itself. I’ve been in the Sony Alpha family since the A350, and even my most recent purchase (the A35) is a hand-filling device. The A6000, on taking it out of the box, had me first asking “where’s the rest of it?”

I suppose I should be used to this by now: camera manufacturers are packing a hell of a lot of camera into a small packages. With that in mind I pulled the A6000 out of the box, sorted the accessories, and got to work on finding out what it’s like and who it’d be great for. Read on, true believers.
