iKlip Mini Puts Your iPhone On the (Mic) Stand

features.jpgIn my last post about the iRig Mic and iRig Recorder software, I mentioned that the folks from IK had sent me another goodie to try and that goodie is the iKlip Mini. The iKlip Mini is a great addition to the iKlip line (for iPads) and lets you securely clamp your iPhone (or iPod Touch) to any mic stand, or really pretty much any pole, so you can have your iPhone available to record, play tracks, or even be stabilized for videos.

I’m most likely to use the iKlip Mini to have my iPhone clamped to my mic stand if I’m doing a podcast, but my wife (who is a voice teacher) could use it for helping students see what their notes look like as well as recording her students’ lessons for them.

Functionally the iKlip Mini is compact, sturdy and easy to clamp onto a mic stand. You can have your iPhone in portrait or landscape and angled just about anyway you might need on the stand. If you use your iPhone with the iRig Amplitude, there is even a clip for that device as well. Yeah you can unleash your whole inner rock god all with your iPhone. If you’re a musician who relies on their iPhone instead of their iPad for jam sessions, then look for the iKlip Mini. It has just hit the stores, so keep an eye out for it.

Which reminds me … some years ago I saw KT Tunstall at an Apple event. She mentioned then that she wish she had an “iStompbox” … turns out with all these tools, she actually can have one now.
