iPad - The artist's friend
If you’re a visual artist or even just like to doodle an iPad can be your best friend. It can really make it easy for you to unleash your creativity anywhere with some very natural feeling tools. There are plenty of great options there to help your inner artist express itself.
One of my favourites is Savage Interactive’s Procreate. It's one of the fastest and most natural feeling digital painting apps out there. It's really effortless to use making it a breeze to intuitively get the results you want. It supports layers, blending modes, undo, redo, translucency, and high resolution. I love this app. It just disappears and lets you create beautiful digital paintings without having to fight the tools or interface at all.
ArtRage by Ambient Design is another pretty popular option. It features a variety of brushes and actually supports infinite layers! This app particularly shines for artists attempting to emulate traditional media like paints and watercolours. It mimics traditional physical art media wonderfully making it easy to transition and giving you a very physical feeling.
Evernote’s popular handwriting app Penultimate is another good choice. The app is mainly designed for simulating handwriting on a notepad in a fast, natural manner. It doesn’t support layers or fancy media. It doesn’t have too many colour options. It doesn't feature a variety of brush styles. That very simplicity is what makes it perfect for doodling. It's one of the best handwriting apps out there because of how streamlined and responsive it is which is exactly what makes it my top pick for all the doodles and sketches out there. When I just want to make a quick drawing, there's nothing easier than Penultimate.
Of course that's not all. There are loads of other great apps out there to appeal to visual artists of all levels. With so many options it's clear to see that an iPad can be a great tool for exploring your creativity no matter what your skill level.
Apple has taken mobile computing to a whole new level. Beyond its slim, fit-easily-into-any-bag design, the new iPad with Wi-Fi comes loaded with features such as a Retina display, 5MP iSight camera that shoots 1080p HD video, and the power to connect to everything you need. And with apps for iLife and iWork now for the iPad, there isn't anything you can't do on the go.
The iTunes store offers a wide variety of music, movies, TV shows, podcasts and more. This card is perfect for Christmas stocking stuffers, Mother's Day, Father's Day gifts, and for any music lover.
