Tips & technology cut your laundry drying costs

In this post, we’ll concentrate on techniques you can use to get your clothes dry while lowering the energy it takes to do it.

Last month, we focused on getting your clothes clean the most energy efficient way. So it only makes sense to follow with with a look at how to dry your clothes.

 

After the refrigerator, an electric clothes dryer typically uses the most electricity of any appliance in the home.

 

The challenge is that there’s no ENERGY STAR category for dryers, so you’ll need to consult the EnerGuide label to get a sense of how efficient a unit is.

What's cooking at Future Shop: A peek at new appliances for 2011

This week was Future Shop's national training event for about a couple hundred Product Experts in the appliances category. Product Experts were flown-in from coast-to-coast, with all 146 stores represented. They're spending time with each other, as well as with the manufacturers of the large and small appliances carried at Future Shop and online to learn more about the appliances industry in Canada and the latest product line-up bringing brought-in to Future Shop.
