On October 19th, FutureShop had an online sale for Modern Warfare 2 pre-orders on Xbox 360 and PS3. The pre-order sale price was $49.99. I've tried to deal with theFuture Shop online support regarding the issue with my pre-order purchase ofModern Warfare 2 for PS3 which I made on October 19th. To be exact, Imade the order at 1:05AM MST, 5 minutes after the online sale began. There was still plenty of stock.
At the time of the sale,MSRP for the game was supposed to be $69.99 making the sale price $49.99. When the game was released on November 10th, MSRP changed to $59.99. During the time of the sale on October 19th, people were able tosuccessfully order the Xbox 360 version for $49.99, but there was glitch on theFuture Shop website which didn't show the sale price when people tried to orderthe PS3 version. Instead of being charged the sale price of $49.99, I wascharged the full price of $69.99. I immediately called Future Shop onlinesupport after I made my purchase. The individual I spoke to assured me Iwould be getting the game for the sale price of $49.99.
Fast forward a 3 weeks. On November 11th, Future Shop charged my credit card $59.99 and shippedModern Warfare 2 to my home. Right after I received my order, I contactedFuture Shop online support again. I indicated to the individual, that mycredit card bill showed I was charged $59.99 for the game, and not the saleprice. The individual told me to wait 10 business days, because FutureShop is in the process of reimbursing customers that pre-ordered the game onOctober 19th. After I got off the phone, I checked my printableelectronic invoice which I downloaded from the Future Shop site and it showed Ishould have been charged $39.99. I assumed the sale price was $20 offMSRP, and since MSRP changed between the pre-order date, and the release datethat explained the lower price.
Fast forward 12 businessdays. I called Future Shop again because I still hadn't been reimbursedfor the overcharge made to my credit card. I contact Future Shop onlinesupport again. The individual I spoke to told me she would escalate theproblem and I would be contacted by someone in 48 hours. I waited about 5days, and contacted Future Shop online support again. The individual Ispoke to this time told me an email was sent to me explaining the situation, but I never received it. The issue was escalated again and I was told Iwould be contacted in 48-72 hours. Another 4-5 days passed, and I endedup calling Future Shop online support again. The individual I spoke totold me again that an email was sent to me, but I never received it. She insisted she couldn't do anything and could only escalate the problem. Itold the individual the problem had been escalated a few times already, and Iwas told someone would email me back, but never was. This time Iinstructed the individual to have someone call me directly on my phone. She told me I would be contacted in 48-72 hours. 3 days later Ifinally received an email, but not a phone call as I instructed. This isthe email I received, and by speaking to several other people they received theexact same email.

I was already prettyfrustrated with the entire situation, but this email made me furious. Howis Future Shop going to go back on their word like that? Your websiteclearly showed the sale on October 19th, and now you're not going to honorit??? Please check the screenshot for proof.
This has been a horribleexperience for myself and many others not to mention a complete waste of time, and we'll be sure to rethink purchasing any other products from Future Shop inthe near future again.
Sincerely,
A DisgruntledCustomer

This is exactly what happened to me. I was well within the limited number of promotional copies and the Futureshop agent I talked to on their main support line confirmed that I would get the discount. They lied to me, now that I look at my electronic invoice, they changed it back to full price!
SHADY practices Futureshop. seriously.
(competitor) from now on.
